she duals at level 7, not level 4.

Nalia (and also Imoen, although in some respects she doesn't require buffing) can be buffed to become a half-decent thief (depending upon the buffs and the thieving activity), and it also allows her (them) to use a wider range of weapons than a single class mage.

BTW, what makes it stupid? Nalia is basically a Mage who can use a shortbow when not casting spells. Don't think of her as a Thief.

Imoen can handle all the thieving skills you need in SoA and ToB.

It actually makes a great deal of sense to Dual-class at a very low level: For example, a Mage who reaches Level 2 and the Duals into a Fighter can use Wands and read Scrolls while in full armor. Nalia's error was not in Dualing so soon, but rather in spreading out her Thieving skills instead of just focusing on one, like finding Traps, before she Dualed.

I guess i just play too muhc PNP. Doing such a thing would be a suicide.
