Is there any way I can change the in-game NPCs' profiles? Someone told me I could, but I'm not sure if mods are necessary for it.

The NPC's? Either use Shadowkeeper or, in the portraits folder, add in the 3 sizes of pictures with the filename that's used on their existing portraits.

Could you host it somewhere else, for the rest of us that can't access the site? Thanks. [ 08-09-2005, 01:37 PM: Message edited by: Sir Goulum ] |
Sorry about the sig. I haven't been on the forum for some time and Kirith site is no longer free. I'll have to find another site to upload images (if anyone knows a free one, feel free to pm).
Now to the problem. Do I have to replace their existing portrait? If so, where can it be found? My BG2/portraits folder contains only the portraits I put there myself. There were no others when I installed the game. If not so, then how do I know Imoen's filename is named NIMOENM/L/S? |
No, you don't have to, using the same filename will replace it automatically. As for how I know, I've extracted them from wherever they are with InfinityExplorer(I think), to editify them a bit. I could find the ones you want if you like.
As for your sig, use http://www.imageshack.us/. |
Just slap the new portraits in the Override folder, that should work. If/when you want to go back to the old one, simply remove the new one from the Override folder.
Or just use Shadowkeeper, which you might as well use anyway. Provided you know how to exercise restraint. |
How can I extract the new portraits from BGII and use them in BGI (Yoshimo or Keldorn's portraits, for example)?
|
im sure there is a way to do it properly but how about printscreen and resize with photoshop?
|
Oh man, that way is NOT for me! ;)

Try ShadowKeeper. There should be a way to export the BG2 portraits when you're viewing them for the purposes of changing an NPC's portrait. They appear in your Portraits folder and you should then be able to transfer them to the original Baldur's Gate.

I think it's Infinity Explorer that you'd need.
