hey everyone,
I only recently found out that you can start a game in multiplayer then move it to the save folder resulting in a team containing as many created players as you want. AWESOME! So for my 3rd time going through the game I made a 3 person team containing: Thief, Sorcerer, Berzerker

I just started the game and I'm now wondering if I should pick up someone who can memorize spell scrolls and whatnot... so my question is:

Do you think it's necessary to add an NPC to my party for this purpose, and if so, who should I get? (I was thinking Edwin because I've never had him before)

Probably Edwin, he's the only pure mage, but if you want a little more entertainment, get Jan.

As you don't have a healer, and magical firepower is always useful... Aerie

I'm not sure why you especially need a second magic spellcaster while you only have one warrior (unless your thief is going to multi, dual, or be a Swashbuckler).

Any combination is do-able (provided that your NPCs don't fight to the death), but Dace De'Briago's probably right in that a healer could come in handy. I'd be considering Jaheira as my first choice.

I will probably choose Anomen if your main character is a female.. he can fight as well as spellcasting..
If your main character is a male.. then Viconia would be my choice.. just try to maintain your reputation points and all is well.

Well, I hope for your sake that your main character isn't the thief.... I shall go no farther into my reasoning unless you request spoilers >.>

Heck, I created an entire party of 6

A Swashbuckler dualed to Mage (He is near godly now, a great sniper and expert spell-slinger with the Robe of Vecna on)
A Paladin. (Because holy avenger swords rock)
A Dwarven Fighter/Cleric (great dual wielder, and self-buffing! :D )
A Jester *I installed aVenger's rouge rebalancing mod, so the jester is a little more than he used to be. I also installed Spell-50, guess who's the bad boy fireball flinger? * (Spell flinger, almost has a fighter's thaco at times. Great sniper as well)
An Assassin (Mega-backstab, poison attacks, the perfect sniper)
and a Sorceror (Uber spell flinger)

I like them :D

I'd never cared for Anmoen until my latest time through. Teaming him up with my character, a Cavalier, the two tag=teaming turning undead through the Temple ruins flat out rocked. By the time I got back from Ust Natha, both were about 14th level and all the shadows and shade wolves went poof, especially Shade Patrick for 7000 XP without ever swinging a sword!

Plus, his healing will come in handy. Also, don't dismiss Jaheira and the Pixie Dust spell, instant party invisibility that's NOT going to trigger those pesky Cowled Enforcers... Her healing is good as well.

One of those two would probably be my main choice. I'd lean towards Anomen since Jaheira can't weild Crom Fehr (or however its spelled)/

Good luck!

You don't necessarily need a perfectly balanced party. Sometimes, a heavy mage party can be pretty entertaining!
