Is there a list of afflictions and cures?

I got into it with some vampires and they hit us with energy drain. I slept and used some potions but its still there. Is it timed or what do i need to get rid of it.

I searched but got no results in this forum or google.

I found a solution at the Ilmater temple... but that magiks "cause, effect, solution" sheet would be nice. I know someones thought of it. hmmm but did they implement one?

I don't know about the exact sheet you are talking about, as I don't need it. I've learnt it all just by playing the games.

Regarding the energy drain curse given to you by the vampires, there are three main "solutions".

1. The worst by far, is the temple method you described. This costs money, and means you need to leave your current position to hike to the nearest temple, which is annoying, especially when some of your party has lost levels.

2. The second is cast the level 4 priest spell "Lesser Restoration". This will cure the level drain affliction, but cause fatigue to the caster.

3. Cast the level 7 priest spell "Greater Restoration". This will cure the level drain, along with other mind afflictions, such as returning the intelligence level back to normal after feeblemind, confusion etc. It will also cause fatigue to the caster.

The best solution is number 2. Unless, other afflictions need to be cured, then number 3. is the best.

Hope that helped!</font>

Good for you dude.. but I dont have a lot of time on my hands to study every potion and scroll (to equip it, then rest), or memorize every merchant that sells'em, then walk across the map to buy it. Whew! I've been doing that and "thats" really annoying. Everybody has they're opinions as to what makes an enjoyable experience for them. And for me.. It's doing the plots and quests and not spending 30 minutes reading scolls and potions and visiting every merchant..lol

Greater Restoration, if it's the spell that I'm thinking of, is... Well... Basically a free Heal to anyone in your party. I'm surprised that it hasn't gotten more talk. It's huge; people just don't die when you get Greater Restoration and use it.

He may not have GR yet.

Any Restoration spell will get rid of Level Drain.

Or you could stock up on potions/scrolls whenever you're around merchants. The lethal status effects don't have an obvious cure. So when you run across an enemy that kills you by draining your INT, stock up on potions that raise your INT.

As for reading every little thing, um, get used to it. You can bust through until about chapter 3 or so without reading a thing, but chapter 4 and beyond, noticing the details makes life a heckuva lot easier.

i'm in the sewers and jaheirs been drained so much she has 3 hp :( so dam annoying when mutated gibberlings 1 hit her. Anyway just go to the temple and purchase greater restoration for 750 gp. 750 gold doesnt even come close to denting any1's pocket i'm sure.

Temple district -> First door on the right -> Behind the large chair -> talk to healer -> aks for services -> Click on dagger with snake -> scroll down -> select afflicted character -> Buy greator restoration -> healed -> donate all your money. There easy as pie.

</font>[/QUOTE]Well thanks for giving me a heads up that my term papers will be due from chapter 4 and beyond... lol. I'm currently still on chapter 2/3 (some pop-up said something about chapter 3 when i did some quest.. dunno what it was but i went from disk 2 to 3 then back to 2 again).

On the part where you choose who you want to help you get imonen back, decided to take the shadow thieves offer cause that bodhi just creeped some of my NPCs out (minsc, jaheria, aerie), yoshi could care less, me either, I just didnt want some tempermental NPC up and leavin without notice in a pinch.

And thanks goes also to Pop 'n Fresh for his reply

"If you have been Level Drained, use a Restoration spell or scroll to restore the missing levels. Temples will also help you." --one of the Help texts that adorn the "Loading Area" screens

If, when installing the game, you had chosen to do a Full Install, you wouldn't have to change the CDs at all. I wouldn't uninstall/reinstall in the middle of a game, but I get the feeling that you'll be doing so before long.

It's improper to address Yoshimo as Yoshi. Where he comes from, that sort of pet name is used only by...well, let us say, you and he have not yet become that well acquainted, hm?

#1 Best way to treat Level Drain: Don't get it. By the way, in case you were thinking of using the spell Negative Plane Protection, don't bother: Its pitifully short duration will protect you for about half as long as you need it to, which is rather akin to walking into a cloud of mustard gas wearing only half of a gas mask.
