Over in the ToB forum I announced that I finally beat this game. Yay for me. Anyway, my problem is that I'm bored now. I tried playing two seperate solo games, but they're kinda boring. I also tried that Batman and Robin thing (two characters only) but that got boring too.

I do have KotOR and PS:T here, which I've never played before. I plan on getting into them, but need an idea of which is better.

I'd also like to know what mods would really spice up my BGII experience, since I will want to come back to this great game someday.

TIA

What mods have you used? I have been expanding my mods and am finding a lot more enjoyment. I have only been playing about 6 months, but I found tactics and Ascencion has added a LOT to my game playing experience...though I supsect you have tried them if you have been playing a while. I have also been trying a lot of the different NPC mods as they can bring some cool quests. Though I still find myself having Jaheira every game. Not sure why, probably all the side quests. LOL In my newest game I am playing a Swashbuckler. I have mainly played Fighters (played a Paladin last time out) so I am rather excited about trying a new class. I am also considering dualing this time around, though I am not sure to what yet. I have been looking at old threads and the idea of dualing to a Cleric sounds interesting. I have never tried the solo experience prefering parties for the role playing experience. Some parts do drag at times, but then something new occurs and I find my self enjoying the game again. Another NPC mod I have installed for my current game is The Longer Road, it sounds interesting and looks as if it could spice up the game from a roleplaying experience. Anyway, just some thoughts from a relative "newbie".

Peace, John.

I've only tried the banter mods. I really think Ease of Use and Item Upgrade are too cheesey for me.

Otherwise, I'd like to know what's really good out there.

Nothing will make the game better than putting it aside for a while. If you keep playing the same game or the same type of game for months or years on end, you're going to get sick of it. If you go on a 3-6 month hiatus from BG2, when you come back to the game, everything will seem like new again. (I have two great loves in my life: Blizzard and Black Isle. Every six months or so, I get tired of one company's games and switch to the other. I play a lot of Diablo these says, hence my absence from the BG community.)

Try KotOR for a while. It's totally different than Black Isle games and I think you'll like it.

Tactics makes the game a lot more enjoyable in my opinion as it actually forces you to think through a lot of the battles that otherwise you can cruise through. I believe most of the major bosses, several areas and some new encounters are in the mod. The first time I player the game I played it modless and since I won't play without tactics. I am not as competent to play tactics on insane, but from what I have read sounds absolutely crazy. LOL I have found that any mod that adds quests or alters existing quests increases my enjoyment as it changes different aspects of the game keeping it fresh. Other mods I like to use are Ascension, Ashes to Embers, Quest, Dungeon Be Gone, Oversight, level 1 NPC's and various NPC mods.

Peace, John.

Unfinished Business! Adds lots of stuff into the game that was supposed to be there in the first place but got cut or something.

Unfinished Business, Tactics, Ascenscion, Redemption, The Longer Road (add on to Redemption that allows you to redeem Jon earlier so you can actually use him in ToB), Spell-50 (use only if you really like mages), aVenger's Rouge Rebalancing Mod, Refinements (Adds unique HLAs for Kits).

(I haven't tried Redemption or The Longer Road, but I will eventually)

Nothing will make the game feel newer than playing a different game for awhile though. (NWN is different enough for me, but maybe not for you)
