In the spell description for spelltrap it says that it saves you from 30 levels of spells, if i were to cast M.M.M how would the game determine how many levels that is?. is it 1 level per meteor or is it 4 levels for the whole spell. If it was the latter way then it would be a bit unfair since the amount of meteors increase with levels.

thanks

I'm guessing here, but i would think that is would completely ignore it, as the meteors are summoned weapons, rather than a direct spell.

Yep, MMM go straight through a spell trap. Not much can stop them completely.

would this be the same with energy blades

shamrock_uk 06-14-2005 12:34 PM

Indeed it would. Lethal they are.

AFAIK, while the physical damage part will go through Spell TRap and the like, the fire part won't.

You seem to be confusing the level of the spell, and the level of the casting. Spell Trap protects you from 30 spell levels. Simply put, if a person casts Lightning Bolt on you, you subtract 3 from 30. It does not matter what level the enemy caster was.

Next question - would each meteor you lob in take away 4 levels? If so, it seems that MMM would be a very quick and easy way to strip spelltrap.

I think Assasin is right, monsters with magic resistance only get hurt by the physical damage and then underneath theres the message saying "magic resistance"

No it doesn't affect the spelltrap at all. You didn't cast MMM on the target, you cast it on yourself. So the meteors affect the target, but not the spelltrap.
