Okay so my party consists of Me (Cleric/Mage), Korgan, Jahiera, Haer'Dalis, Yoshimo, and Edwin and I am in the Umar hills doing the Planar Sphere quest. Now my PC is Chaotic Neutral which means that I can pretty much act as I please from an RP point of view...so who would be the better party member Valygar or Korgan. I either need to kill Valygar and use his body to enter the sphere or kick Korgan and make room for Valygar. Also, if I kill Valygar will he become available again in ToB?

Let Korgan kill Valygar, he'd probably enjoy it. Korgan is the superior party member without a doubt. If Valygar is killed, he cannot be summoned in ToB. You can always dump him from the party after opening the sphere if you want him for ToB.

For some reason, I liked Valygar better, though maybe its just my passion for katanas ;) . Korgan probably is a better warrior, and he will always have a higher defense.

Korgan:
- Better defense (full plate vs studded leather for Valygar, despite only 15 DEX vs Valygar's 18)
- Better saving throws (Dwarf plus 19 con bonuses)
- Higher level (easier XP table)
- Grandmastery in Axes

Valygar:
- Free dual wield (Korgan just has to spend the 2 proficiency points to break even though)
- Specialized in Katanas
- Can hide and backstab
- Level 1-3 Druid spells and Stalker bonus spells (notables include Armor of Faith, Call Lightning, Haste)

As long as I don't have an alignment / party conflict issue, I'd take Korgan any day of the week, and in your party specifically I think Korgan is the better fit.

Valygar is definitely worth using in a party at some point though. The Stalker kit is unique and fun to play with... it is great having a stealthy scout that can backstab with a Ranger's THACO and actually hold his own in toe-to-toe combat after delivering said backstab.

Korgan, to me, is the much better choice. Especially if you want to keep your mages/clerics out of harms way.
