(possible spoilers)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In bg2 inside the adventurers market there are two pictures that i read about somewhere are from an old D&D cartoon can anyone tell me where i can get this and a little background on the cartoons itself Ex. when they came out, on what station..blah blah blah blah.. |
The show was part of the Saturday morning line up of CBS beginning in 1983 and ending in 1987.
The show featured six kids that when on a roller coaster ride and were magically transported to the Realm of the Dungeons and Dragons. Led by the mysterious Dungeon Master and accompanied by Uni the baby unicorn, the kids are trying to find there way home throughout the series. Each of them are given special weapons by the dimunitive omnipresent Dungeon Master to defend themselves from monsters and the evil Venger. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled before they could make it home. If I remember correctly the two pictures in the Adventurer’s Mart are of Bobby and Hank. |
Man.. I used to live for that show. Nice summary, BTW.

Great show!

Have heard a rumor that FOX is rebroadcasting it…or maybe Cartoon Network.
|
yeah, didn't they get so close every episode that they'd always see a window portal back home, but something would always happen and the portal would close too soon. I can remember screaming at the TV "Just go through!! Just go!!"
That shield was awesome... what was he? A Cavalier? _S |
There is a guy on ebay selling episodes that he taped and has been copying. Hopefully eventually it will be released on DVD along with commentary (by E. Gary Gygax who was unfortunately working very hard at making the TV show, and working on a movie while his partners screwed the company up back home.
At the end of the show they were not going to be returned, they were going to go to an oriental adventures style world, leaving their weapons behind. and Yes the Cavalier was the one with the shield (although if I had a player try to act like that and claim to be a cavalier he'd be stripped of his class, lose his knighthood, and be sent to scrub chamber pots). |
I agree, Morgy.
That "Cavaleir" dude with the shield was the worst party leader I've ever seen. I even liked the annoying archer guy more! My favorite character was the little kid barbarian. He was cool. |
