Jaheira was killed when I was about to speak Claire in the brothel in that town outside of 'Spellhold'. I wasn't able to 'revive' her when I was there. I left that town and met up with Imoen and I'm in Bodhi's maze. Will I get a chance to go back to the area where Jaheira was killed so I can retrieve her items? I'm wondering this because I went there by boat and I never saw it on the world map.

Well, that would be the imaginitive explanation to what happens to your items on the long run. I would rather say they just disappear into thin air one way or the other.
