I came across my first troll (Sea). How do you kill him? I continued hammering him once he was down but that wasn't good enough. He came back on me twice. Is there a limit?

Fire arrows are plentiful and will work if someone can use a bow, certain weapons are enchanted with such damage as well.</font>

Hey pritch....tone down the font size a little?
I don't think you can kill a troll with poison...at least I've never done it successfully. |
I have... My Avenger killed trolls with sword spider form.

Bleeding damage works as well - anything that puts a 'damage for x rounds' on the target will bypass the immunity and finish him off.
INT drain should also work, but thats slightly less useful. But, properly, you use Fire or Acid damage. Certain species of trolls require different elements, but they dont show up till ToB. |
Arrow's and bolts or bitting also work..
Assasin posion weapon works.. Some troll's are immune to some of these attacks, but I'll leave finding out upto you.. |
Fire, Acid, and Poison Damage are the only things that can truly kill most Trolls. Note that the Troll has to be down first: Once they fall down, they become immune to all forms of Physical damage, as well as Cold, Electricity, and Magic Damage, but a small amount of Fire, Acid, or Poison will remove their last hitpoint, and they will die.
"Bleeding" damage is treated as Poison, I believe. |
But bleeding damage bypasses some things that poison don't, things like olitukes(sp?) resilient sphere and such?
I think baldurdash fixed that though. [ 01-27-2005, 05:44 AM: Message edited by: bjorn ] |
Another thing is heavy damage. If you bring them down to well under 0 hp with one hit they are permanently dead - at least in my games. I think it´s the same as with resurrecting chars - the limit is at -10 hp.
If they are regenerating they just fall down to the floor - if you dealt them enough damage there´s the *explosion animation" and they are gone. |
