Minor Anomen spoilers


I just took Anomen in my latest game (for the first time ever - left him out for so many games!) and decided to romance him with Lisca, my female fighter/mage and...well...once you get under that brash exterior he's really rather sweet! She'll never forget when he plucked that flower from the ground and compared her to it - sure beats everyone trying to kill her! Plus the romance music is rather nice too, stately trumpets - you could do a lot worse!

I actually feel sorry for him, because every time he opens his mouth both Chloe (a rabidly anti-Anomen mod NPC) and Kelsey both verbally beat him to death first as they vie for Lisca's affections. And he's so happy now that he's knighted, brings a smile to her face watching him walk around happy that he's accomplished his life's dream.

So, is it just me? Am I really the only person in these forums who likes Anomen?! Surely not...

No, you're not the only person. I like him myself plus I know of several other Anomen fans. Are you playing his romance with the flirt pack installed, btw?

<font color=plum>I'm playing female kensai and I took Anomen and Kelsey both (I had planned for her to romance Kelsey). You're right that the two of them getting into some really petty banters because of their jealousy, but my kensai finally got tired of Anomen's arrogance and his presumptious attitude that she had already chosen him. I finally kicked him out of the party (but Jaheira is making romantic overtures to her too - I still have multiple romance installed :rolleyes: ).

Not to worry, though. I've created a female Undead Hunter that will be a perfect match for Anomen. :D </font>

Yeah, I've put off my experiment of going PC + Romance Character + Thief (if necesarry). I plan to do that for every romance character in the game.

I like Anomen.

Myself, i like anomen. Good tank, tbh, i like his dialog. One of the few NPC's who don't make me want to smash their face in.

I only like him during the romance.

He can be alittle self rightous at times but I like him.

You have to feel sorry for him when his sister is murdered and he is cast out of his family. Poor guy.

No, plenty of people like Anomen... proportionally far more, it seems to me, than did when the game first came out. It's my opinion that the early romance mods like Solaufein and Kelsey provided enough of a choice that Anomen no longer feels forced on the player.

(Also, in fairness, Kelsey stops arguing with Anomen once you've clearly made a romance partner decision. Unlike Chloe, who literally heckles him while he's trying to get <CHARNAME> in the sack.)

I still need to try the Kelsey mod myself. Problem is that I keep losing the game, or interest in the game.
