All of a sudden for no apparent reason, without altering any files that i konw of, when i start a game no sound is there, and it lags a bit when it finishes loading. Any idea why? there is osund when the auto-run menu comes up but not when the game launches, and it will not let me skip the intros as well, its realkly annoying me, as my party was getting interesting, i'm in the underdark if thats of relevance and i'm fully patched before you ask.

Make sure your keyboard isn't locked. Does the 'ESC' key work with other programs? Check the BG2 'options' and see if they got somehow changed. That's all i can think of right now. Backup your saves, portraits and sounds in case you need to re-install.

To me, it sounds like either a problem with your sound drivers, or there's another program running in thee background that's hogging your sound card (for whatever reason). Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to see what programs are running (Explorer and Systray are the only ones your computer actually <u>needs</u>), and get happy with your Control Panel in your Start Menu to check up on your hardware.

Thanks i'll give it try and see what i come up with, could the dfact that my PC is being affected by spywar at the moment posibly be a cause? They're malacious little buggers that adaware and spybot can't kill nor cwshreder (one of the seems to be coolwebsearch, but with out the usual effects). Don't think they're the problem bu its the only new factor i can think of.
