I don't think it gets more poetic (or bloodier) than this, after freeing Hendak and the slavers and using the secret passage into the slavers base I fought the first guards and the trolls, and then noticed I had a gate scroll I had bought... it was probably a waste of a very expensive spell but it was just so cool to release a demon on these dispicable slave leaders... so I cast the spell and just listened to the screams, waited awhile for the demon to unsommon and then went in... and man it was ugly

By the way isn't there something odd about that good characters can cast demon summonings?

Yo are evil, Jorath. ;)

I don't think it's odd they can, it's just out of character.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Very Cool. Oh.. and welcome to the Dark Side young Skywalker.

Actually, my assassin is planning to do the very same thing to Renal Bloodscalp and his crew once he doesn't need them anymore. He wants to be the ONLY Guildmaster in town. I was planning to go in and kill them personally, then decided (just like you) that it would be MUCH more gratifying to simply get a scroll of Protection and unleash a demon on them. Why bloody my hands when I can sit back and just listen in contentment to their panicked, dying screams (not that I mind getting my hands bloody...I just don't see any reason to do it if I don't have too).

I also thought about doing this to the Order of the Radiant Heart too, but that is one job that I MIGHT like to do up close and personal - just for the fun and challenge of it.

I'll up you one. Why can a Neutral Good Cleric of Lathander cast Animate Dead?

TheGodThatFailed 12-19-2004 01:17 PM

Nice jorath, very nice. Sounds fun, might try it :D What i also am planning, is to unleash HELL in the copper coronet. ADHW, ToB HLA, and another spell of my choosing. As many as i can fit in a Chain Cotengency(sp) and let it fly :D

Animate Dead is supposed to be a divination spell, that lets you ask questions of the dead.

I might have my spells confused though.

That's Speak With Dead, Riftmaker.

a power can be good or evil but it does not meant the user becomes evil

IT'S NOT THE POWER THAT IS NECCESSARY GOOD OR EVIL. IT'S HOW YOU USE IT!

!!we all should remember!!

"HE WHO FIGHTS WITH MONSTERS SHOULD SEE TO IT THAT HE HIMSELF DOES NOT BECOME A MONSTER"

Maybe, but this is a question of a patron deity, not alignment. No cleric of Lathander would ever, under *any* circumstances, create undead. It's anathema to them; their job is the destruction of undead, not creation.

Magness 12-25-2004 01:53 PM

It should also be considered that if a cleric's spells com from their diety and that diety (Lathander, for example) is completely against undead, why would a cleric of Lathander even get "Animate Dead" as a spell option?

It would seem to me that the spells supplied to a cleric by his patron diety would reflect that diety's sphere of influence.
