I ask because I'm fully installed, but I need to reinstall everything.

I have 4 BGII discs, plus 1 bonus disc, plus 1 ToB disc. Am I missing any?

Also, which patches are needed, and where can I find them?

TIA

Thanks guys. I'm putting the game onto a new computer, and I don't like all the mods I added in after all.

OK: problem

I'm installing ToB now, and it's asking for disc 0.

WTF is that????

Try the bonus disc maybe? I don't have the bonus cd and when I installed ToB it never asked for a disc 0. Other than that, just try all of your cds.

krunchyfrogg 10-19-2004 07:32 PM

OK, I tried all of the CDs (I've done this with and without the bonus disc).

CD 2 had the file (data3.cab) on it. Then, the intall wizard asks for disc 0 with data4.cab on it. I try CD 3, and it worked! It also worked when the install wizard asked for disc 0 with data5.cab on it, and I used CD 4.

Problem is, the install wizard is now asking for disc 0 with data6.cab on it. I've tried all discs 1-4, the Bonus disc, and the ToB disc here. Nothing has this file, and I'm getting worried that I'm not going to be able to play this game anymore.

Please, all help is really appreciated here.

<span style="color: lightblue">It sounds like your TOB CD is scratched. If you can, try making a copy of it and installing from that. This is an installer quirk. A similar quirk is a cause of the infamous "Disk 5" problem in SOA.

crap, no worky.

Maybe I'll just go out and buy a new ToB CD.

LennonCook 10-20-2004 07:53 AM

<span style="color: lightblue">And never again use an original for *anything*. As soon as you buy a new copy, burn it, and put the original somewhere safe. Install from a burn, play from a burn, live from a burn. The reason for this is a well-documented (or, atleast it was on the old interplay forums) problem to do with the pretty artwork on the CDs. Without going into detail, it can cause problems with the CDs warping and scratching alot more easily than they should.
