Hi all!

I'm going to start "BG2: Shadows of Amn" soon as an assassin. (I've already played through the game as a goody-twoshoes, so I want to play evil now.) What I want to know is if I can dual-class her to wild mage in "BG2: Throne of Bhaal." I've never played a wild mage either and would really like to.

If I can dual-class her, when should I switch her over to wild mage?

Thanks a lot.

Scott

No. You can't dual-class to a kit. Only from a kit.

You can be Assasain->Fighter, but not Fighter->Assasain. You can check the Forum FAQ for dual-classing. Click Here

You can start out as a wild mage and dual to thief. Wild mages have the most fun when they're still low level. If you're a fan of wild surges and only want mage abilities to beef up a fighter or thief class, dual around level 10-12.

Here's an idea--wild mage/cleric!

Wild mages can't dual.

You can start off as a thief, dual to a mage, then use SK to give yourself all the Assassin benefits (based on the level at which you dualed) and set your kit as Wild Mage, though.

Hmmm....I have always opposed the Wild Mage's inability to Dual-class like the other Mages, and therefore have performed the same cheat you mention (at this very moment, I have a Wild Mage->Fighter in Chapter 7), but the notion of putting TWO kits on the same character is morally sticky. How would you feel about a Multiclassed Kensai/Swashbuckler? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Multiclassed characters with two kits aren't allowed in PNP, but dual classed characters with two kits are. However... If you're willing to cheat to make your game closer to PNP, you should also be responsible enough to know what is RP and what is not. Since most DMs would not allow a kensai/swashbuckler, I wouldn't cheat one in.

Are multiclassed characters with ONE kit allowed?

Dundee Slaytern 09-16-2004 03:30 AM

Only the Thief/Illusionist, and you have to be a Gnome.

Ah...I should have been more specific...Barren F. mentioned that multiclassed characters with two kits aren't allowed in PnP, but dual-classed characters are.

Are kits allowed in multiclassed characters in PnP? Beyond the example Dundee mentioned.

And Fighter/Illusionist and Cleric/Illusionist. Gnomes cannot be pure Mages, they have no choice in the matter. They automatically become Illusionists.
