Just out of curiosity what do you think some famous people would have for their stats? (Was just trying to figure out Bill Clinton's Charisma score :D )
|
you reminded me of a post i made way back..
here is the link: :D . ah good times http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...c;f=2;t=022654 |
oh yeah.. it is still the same to what i have posted then :D .
but since you did say about famous people... well i would some of those athletes in the olympics. it depends on what they can do but they are pretty impressive. i also dare people who play bg2 with thier real life stats and with the possibility of what IF "you were living in the bg2 realm and what would you have been?" I reckon that is different from "what is your favorite character?" simply because although you would want to become a mage and cast powerful spells, in real life, you cant imagine yourself sitting in a tower your whole life living like a hermit for near eternity? OR for example you are a construction worker in real life, then you cant be a wild mage or something like that. get my drift? ;) ps: sorry for hijacking this thread a little :D . |
Let's set a rule...
1. *9* is not average.*10.5* is average. No stat can be below 3, therefore 3 becomes 1. A Roman soldier of the late republic carried a pack of approximately 25-30 pounds. He could also, if required, carry a *talent*(the amount of gold or silver a man could carry in an average day,,50 pounds). This person I would say is a 15. I consider a high school education or equivalent average, let's say 10 for a GED and 11 for actually completing high school. Add 1 point for every year of school after that. Specialized training(trade schools) add no more than 2. Dexterity,,hmmm,,, could you dodge the ball in *dodgeball* consistently when you were a kid? Then make your DEX a 14. Can you do it now? Then make it less. Could you win a popularity contest? Run for office? Make you CHA 15. Is the only thing you get is a cold every now and then? Make your CON a 15. I am 49 and retired from the USN. Using these guidelines I would be.... STR--12(at most, I wasn't a grunt in the service). DEX--10 (can't dodge that ball any more). CON--13 (I still have good endurance. This stat would be 15 if I were younger). INT--13 (high school plus trade school.. electronics). WIS--10 or 11,, hard to say, I can usually foresee the consequences of my actions. CHA--9 Ok, that's 2 cents worth. [ 09-11-2004, 11:30 AM: Message edited by: ElfBane ] |
Eww... I dunno about me, but I like this thread.
Strength - 12 hrmm... probably my weakest barring wisdom. Dexterity - 17. I was more flexible than girls in gym at school.. but hey, 8 years of acrobatics does that to you. Constitution - 16 I put my body thru a lot of shite and I get over things quick smart. Intelligence - 13 highschool and 2 years of uni Wisdom - 10. I know (intelligence) what is going to happen to me when I go clubbing all night, yet I do it anyways (wisdom). I am very unwise :D Charisma - 16 voted sexiest male at year 10 formal (mostly because I befriended all of the uncooler girls whom all the other boys wouldnt even say hello to) and voted most likely couple with the most popular girl in school. LOL this becomes all the more funny for those who have read the "getting to know you" post in GD forum. (at the time i was dying from laughter inside, if only the fools knew) 84. I think thats an appropriate roll for a 19 year old. Whose next? [ 09-11-2004, 10:48 AM: Message edited by: Dave_the_quack ] |
me in real life could be:
str-11 dex-14 cons-13 intl-17 wis-12 chr-17, really, lol        |
str: 16 ->I'm, hm, big.
dex: 8 ->I'm quite clumsy cons: 15 -> a cold has quite a bad time puttin me down int: 10 -> (not quite a genious once it comes to math, what makes me fell rather dumb once in a while ;) wis: 15 ->(? hard to say, I usually 'see more than meets the eye', wich makes me feel a bit wiser than my friends...) char: 17 ->( i usually manipulate people to do what i would like them to... hmm evil.. hehe) that makes 81, bit high it seems.. well anyway, I'd probably be a Human (obvioulsy, as my mother is neither orc nor elf and my dad, I believe, is indeed human, not sure though, he is quite weird...) Chaotic (probably anarchist would suit me much better, but chaotic will do) Neutral (I simply cannot see me as a Good boy, though I would be closer to it than to Evil, so I'll take a mid-term...) to the class... hmmm, probably a Bard (cuz of the gals and the lore, I simply LOVE reading) well, that's it, who's next? |
I've actually made character sheets for famous people and famous fictional characters. I was really really REALLY bored at the time. For example:
Sydney Bristow (Protagonist on Alias) Elf Chaotic Good Str 13 Dex 19 Con 12 Int 19 Wis 12 Cha 16 (If she didn't have amazing stats she wouldn't be an agent) Bill Clinton Human Alignment unknown Str ? Dex 9 Con 9 Int 14 Wis 15 (I'm not talking about wisdom as such, so don't argue with this. I'm talking about how he knows how to think on his feet) Cha 15 And moi... Elf Neutral Good Str 7 Dex 14 (This is not to be debated. I'm a dancer, and I can scratch my nose with my toes from behind my back.) Con 12 (I'm not hardy, but I'm never ever sick) Int 14 (A good rule of thumb when assigning yourself an Intelligence score is to use your IQ, divided by ten and rounded) Wis 14 (Converse with me and you'll understand.) Cha 15 (Part looks, part magnitude) They might appear remarkable, but remember, a ten is average. I looked at how good I was at this or that, and compared it to average people. |

If you roll three dice per stat, you can't get anything less than a 3. However, some races and subraces have ability bonuses and penalties. It's possible for an elf to have 2 CON or a dwarf to have 1 DEX, depending on how sucky the roll. The "15 STR for a fighter" rule was created for the BG series to give certain classes a chance; without decent items and other stats, a 9 STR fighter is asking for a xvart to kick his butt. I'm not sure if 2nd ed keeps the stat requirements, but 3rd does no such thing. But for 2nd ed AD&D, 9-10 is definitely the average. ;) |
Str: 16 (rugby player)
Dex: 11 (slow rugby player) Con: 16 Int: 14 (college - but uni next year, woohoo!) Wis: 15 (in terms of judge of character and situation decisions) Cha: 10 (ugly bugger ) seems kinda high to me...........maybe i'm arrogant too |
