I'm starting over on a solo game I had going, because after downloading a few new mods, there was some type of glitch through out most of the game. So, I'm here to ask advice on what type of class would be good for a solo character, general tips from the vets, and a list of what quests would be good to go through first on Tactics.

I will offer my favourite classes to solo with.</font>
  • Sorcerer - he destroys everyting with his spells. At low leves Mirror Image and Stoneskin will be your live savior. Once high enough level you will gain accsess to more powerful spells like Spell Immunity, Sunfire and of course ever cheesy Project Image. With SotM and Robe of Vecna and Amulet of Power everything dies.</font>
  • Cleric/Ranger - with Ironskins, Chaotic Commands, Aromor of Faith, Nature`s Beauty and some ToB HLA`s dual-wielding FoA, Crom, Fulcrum, Belm he makes a great tank.</font>
  • Blade - the master of cheese. With Mirror Image, Stoneskin other spells he can be a good tank (Tenser`s Transformation) and a good make. Also he has one big bouns: he can pickpocket. With one of the most cheesiest tactics he can take out 90% of SOA. This tactic is: Mislead.</font>
  • Fighter/Mage - another great class. With Stoneskin, SI, PFMW, and things like GWW in Time Stop everything falls. (Auto-Hit)</font>

Good to hear you will be soloing your next carrier through BGII Gangrell ;) !

Its quit fun it everything works out the way you want it to be.. gives a rush :D

My all-time favourite is and will always be a Kensai dualled to a mage on level 11/13, Kensai/Mage wearing the Robe of Vecna, Amulet of Power, Celestial Fury +5 & Sanchuduuko is an ultimate powerhouse combined with mirror image, spell immunity, timestops... ect :D !

Tough I know you aren't keen on dualling so.. solo a kensai.. without the magic poef-pafs will also be a powerwh*re, with tactics installed you will receive one of the most powerfull katana's ever created/balanced for BG!

You only need to grab it out of the clutches of that vilthy acid Kensai... though really worth the trouble!

Have phun and let us know what you'll solo!

Solo Monk is always a good choice, maybe a slightly easier one, but its always fun too

Hmmm, I'm thinking of something along the lines of a mage type class, but I suppose the best combat advice I can get is the spell trigger/lower resistance combo, but I'm curious. What do you do against the tougher enemies before you get it?

Well MMM is pretty good early on, and if I remember correctly it even strikes though stoneskin (the fire element that is)..

Minor spell seqencers loaded with copys of the spell your trying can help as well, also means you can rest after loading them up and get even more spell's off before having to rest again.
