Oh boy, I'm so drunk still. no matter I have finally reached Ironw. Forums. Well last night I tried to take on Fierkraag with a party around lvl 10. The quests I've made so far are just: saving the son of that dude in Windspear, that Renal Bloodscalp gig and the slaver's job in the Slums. OKay so far so good, I'm down in the dugeon with everybody gettin meself ready to attack Fierkraag's long A** so I tackled him and, well, it would be what I call a slaughter. Fierkraag killed us easily enough so I'd see that the only way I could kill him would be to Fake-Talk him to death. Well, that's where my doubt come to mind, Fier cast's Ironskin, I breach it, and send in my 3 melee fighters: Minsc, Monk(PC) and Jaheira, all of them around lvl 10. My monk has a THAC0 around 9, he hits Fier only when he rolls a Crit Hit,
SO would Fier's AC be around -10 or so?

No offense, but it sounds like your party might need to come back to pay Big Red a visit after you've leveled up a few more times...

I have always beaten firr first time around.

I know some people have problems with him some times, and other times he dies instantly.

I'm just lucky I guess.

I would agree that Level 10 is a bit low to attack Firkraag. It isn't impossible, mind you, but it would take some serious strategy and well thought-out tactics (along with a boat-load of buffs) to defeat him without resorting to somewhat cheesy methods.

Not that I have anything against using cheese. I've done it plenty of times myself - including my first encounter with Big Red (I used the Feeblemind tactic on him).

But I've since learned to handle such difficult battles with better tactics and strategies.

Yup I found out the hard way that Fier is a bit tough at my current level, so I have decided to dealy our final meeting... yeah.. why would I want a helluva 2-handed sword.. I'm a monk, yeah... now I just gotta keep repeating that 'till I believe it ~~

btw, I have used the fake-talk strategy with my first char after like year or so, but now I have decided to take him out only legitly hehe.
