Who are the people who you meet in the imp's game? I know who Drizzt and Elminster are, but who are the other three?

Khelben Blackstaff, Alustriel, and Piergeiron

I know their names. I mean what's the story behind them.

The story of why in the game, or the characters story?
Well I know Drizzt is a renegade drow living in Icewind Dale/Mithral Hall, Elminster is the Gandalf of the Forgotten Realms, Alustriel is an elf who rules some city I believe, but I don't know the other two.

Read the icewind dale trilogy(drizzt) and the elminster trilogies. Blackstaff and Alustriel are famous mages, blackstaff is the ex head of the harpers, Alustriel is the head of Silverymoon. never heard of piergeiron.

Or, check out the original Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, from 2nd Ed. AD&D. These characters all pop up frequently in Forgotten Realms events and legends. They are the power-brokers, the political movers and shakers from different areas of the Realms. All basically good-guys, with varied personalities and portfolios.

Each of them is considered just about the highest skilled person of their class, in the Realms.

khelben blackstaff is one of the lords of waterdeep

Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun is a Chosen of Mystra, former High Harper, and the most powerful mage in Waterdeep. His lady, Laeral, is also Chosen and an Elf-Friend, one of the few humans allowed on the elven isle of Evermeet.

Alustriel Silverhand is one of the Seven Sisters (along with Laeral), Mystra's own daughters and arguably the most powerful women on Faerun. She leads Silverymoon, which seems to be the reincarnation of Myth Drannor... A place where the races come together, learning and prospering.

Lord Piergeiron is a paladin, and the Open Lord of Waterdeep.
Waterdeep is led by the Masked Lords (though some are female)... The identities of all Lords are masked in secrecy, save for the Open Lord. After all, how can secret lords get anything done without a spokeslord?
