I dont know much about computers, so could someone tell me why iwd2 works perfectly fine on my comp, but bg2 is slow?

Not patched?

Graphics card drivers need an update?

Engine differences?

System requirements are greater for BG2 than for IWD2? Requires more RAM etc?

Settings are on maximum for BG2 and on minimum for IWD2?

You are running BG2 at a higher resolution/colour depth than IWD2?

I don't know. Throw me a frickin' bone here ;)

Disable your 3d accelorator for BG2, cuz bg2 doesn't even use it and it slows the game down.

1. go to start
2. select 'run'
3. type in dxdiag
4. go to display tab.
5. disable the 3d accelorator

Sorry about that dace, i turned the settings way down bg2 but they were pretty high for iw2, im fully patched, im not sure if i need a driver update, im not even sure what video card i have. Il try Lord's advice. Thanks

also, what resolution are you running bg2 in? Higher, unsupported resolutions tax your machine more.

lol, no probs mate. Just I'm a bit of a techie and its a little tricky to diagnose faults without a lot of hardware info ;)
