hello and good morning,
i managed to get out off the under-earth dungeons. i have not solved all riddles, i guess. is it possible to get out without having done all necessary things? i have created a fighter as recommended and she is quite good, still i have problems to get the monsters killed. imoed fx often dies. is it advisable to take anyone to the party who wants to join at this early point of the game? would it be good to give bows to all players? thank you greetings mr |
Take everybody and replace them as you find someone better at least while you are learning the game. Imoen will leave you pretty soon.
Keep your esteemed self and Minsc up front as tanks and Jaheira just behind you for fighter/healer backup. Put Yoshimo in behind with a bow and occationally scout forward with him while he is hidden in shadows. On single enemies he can make a backstab and retreat back to the battle formation. |
Since you are using a fighter character, I would advice you to take Anomen the fighter/cleric with you, he is stationed at the copper coronet, and will join you without any problems Healing is extremely important at the beginning, since I doubt you want to sleep for 20 days just to get ureself fully healed.

mad=dog: please put a spoiler tag on your post.
TyranyuZ: ditto - that's a character spoiler. Plus, megan row isn't asking for spoilers, so don't give out any (please - for the sake of everyone who doesn't know what happens and whom they'll meet and where) Megan row: giving bows or other ranged weapons to your players is a great idea. A good tactic when you're first starting out is to have one (or two) character(s) (so-called "tank") with the best armor and protections a few steps ahead of the others in battle attracting the attention of as many bad guys as possible, while the rest of the party hangs back and pelts the bad guys with arrows, sling bullets, darts, bolts and/or spells. Secondly, it's possible to move on in the game without doing everything that you possibly can in an area (in fact, that's how most of the game progresses), but it's not possible to move on for good without doing something that's absolutely necessary for the plot to progress.
