After having finished SOA numerous times, I'm planning to base my new party purely on fun. It currently consists of the following people:

PC (Ranger/Cleric)
Jaheira
Minsc
Yoshimo
Aerie

Now, I'm considering replacing Jaheira (Ranger/Cleric can also cast Druidic spells + I also have Aerie) with Mazzy (who is much more fun) and adding Jan to my party (great dialogue with Minsc, and everybody else for that matter). Of course, this will result in an Arcane heavy party (with Yoshimo being replaced with Imoen). But I guess that won't be much of an issue with three warriors in my party. I'm also thinking about replacing Minsc with Valygar. Because even though V. is hardly my favorite char, he does have some rather funny dialogue with Mazzy. Plus, he is a better fighter then Minsc. Then again, that would mean there would be no one left to wield all those great Two-handed swords in the game. Opinions welcome

so, the party may look like this...
PC (Ranger/Cleric)
Mazzy
Valygar
Aerie
Jan
Imoen

I thnk this will be a fun party to play. Not just the characters themselves, but various themes -- no two handed weapons (except for maybe occasionally taking advantage of the power of SotM), (could make it) an all dual-wielding party, the best fighter duo in the game (ehh...just me ), not overpowered in SoA but will be very scary by ToB, nice balance of most class characteristics in the game (fighter, wizard, priest and thief)...the tanking department may seem to be weak, but the beauty of the game is to find a way to beat the game with various party tactics.

also, it may seem "Arcane heavy" to you, but to an arcane addict like me, it's not. In all my recent games, I had three wizard spell casting members in the parties. Aerie and Jan are multi-classed and so they don't really provide THAT heavy of arcane firepower. Try something like Sorcerer PC + Imoen + Edwin, you'll know what an Arcane heavy party would look like anyway, I think Imoen + Aerie + Jan is great.

Hi.

In my party i've HaerDalis, Edwin and Viconia(Vic, just for a while). And they have funny dialogs in my opinion(Haer/Ed, Haer/Vic). But, I don't have they together for a long time, i don't know if they'll keep going with their dialogs.

Hmmm...just a suggestion. You seem to like the Minsc/Jan and Mazzy/Valygar banters. How about this layout?

</font>
 • PC Ranger/Cleric</font>
 • Mazzy</font>
 • Valygar</font>
 • Minsc</font>
 • Jan</font>
 • Aerie or Imoen</font>
Your character is plenty cleric for the party (considering all of the tons of regeneration items available), so having Imoen over Aerie is hardly a problem. But, if you want the romance, go with Aerie. This is a very tank heavy party, so you could use Mazzy as solely an archer, Valygar as backstabber, and Minsc as main tank or backup tank (with you filling the other role). Having Aerie and Jan would mean your mage levels would lag a little; you'll have to use your clerical/druidic spells and limited use items to make up the difference until they catch up. If you use Imoen over Aerie, you have less cleric, but more mage. Your choice, but then again you can play with any combo you want, as long as you enjoy it.
