where are the backpacks of extra holding or whatever? Im always Out of room.

Uh, i think you mean SoA. But anyway, the (SPOILER) bag of holding is in the Asylum Dungeon, after you pay the fee. Gembags and spellcases can be found on shopkeepers.

one of the most annoying things about Baldurs Gate 1 is the lack of a bag of holding....or ANY kind of container whatsoever, for that matter. they really should have thought that up earlier than BG2. i know it would make me more inclined to go back and play BG1 more often than i do....that, and if they had allowed pausing in the inventory screen. these two technicalities really get to me sometimes.

Look at the post "Is BG1 Worth It?" in the BG2 forum, apparantly someone there says thet if you download 'Dark Side Of the Sword Coast' from TeamBG, you can get a bag of holding. Don't know if its true, but could be worth a try....

I've heard there's a bag of holding you can hack in for BG1, but haven't done it myself.

Yeah, I went to a site that had some hacked items you could import into the game, and one was a Bag of Holding. The problem with it is that you have to give the Bag to a party member, kick them out, talk to them, and they become a Store that will buy and sell anything for the same price. That's not a real problem for most players, but I wanted the Bag so I could carry around all the stuff I found when I was playing solo.

The game stays paused when you open the inventory screen if you are in multiplayer mode. You can still play solo in multiplayer, though, if you import only your own character, then get the NPC's you want to join the party normally. The only difference is when you load a game, you go to another screen and have to reselect all the players and NPC's in your party again, then hit done and the game loads. I wish there were bags of holding, or scroll cases or ammo belts etc also. Without them, I end up going back to towns much more frequently to sell off excess items. |
One thing that helps the space problem is to sell off most potions. The ones that turn out to be useful are healing/elixir, antidote, absorption, strength increasers, speed, heroism, invulnerability, master thievery, perception, mirrored eyes, eplosives, power, and defense. Ditto most of the general scrolls (protection from magic is always a keeper, though) and priest scrolls. Also, Dark Side increases stacking so that you can have 50 arrows and 100 bullets in a quiver.
