I never finished SoA the first time cause i missed so much stuff i wanted to redo the game. I have a great party minus yoshi dude. do i have to take him to the island for the story to continue correctly? (last time i took him)

No and No.

It's not necessary, as Nickzilla said, but Imoen is the main reason you're after Irenicus after all. Plus she makes a decent mage as well (not that she's brilliant :rolleyes: )

Imoen doesn't have to be a reason at all. Vengeance is also a strong motive. I rarely take her with me. I don't find her overly useful. Besides her voice act is SO bad. Yikes.

And Yoshimo is definitely not necessary, either. In fact, I think it was my fifth time through the game before I even added him to the party.

Imoen is useful, but you don't need her. And considering the way you were tortured (even if you can't remember it), then mad=dog is right about the vengeance motivation. Also, you might just be interested in what Johnny Boy was trying to awaken in you... ;)
