Im having yet more problems deciding which class to play next.Iv tried the solo sorcerer and couldnt be bothered with the umar hills, which is where my save is.My fighter theif is getting boring as its backstab, hack hack hack DEAD,repeat for evry single enemy out there.Iv been a blade, which was fun and was wondering about a cleric.I get quite annoyed with their hold spell and thaught i might try one.The fighter/cleric half-orc i used went to hell when i never used spells.Lol.So what stats do a cleric need?Am i right in thinking

STR 10-14 -Maybe only 10.A belt could solve that, giving extra points for high CHA and wisdom, but if i have strength belt, ill miss out on belt of inertal barrier.
DEX 9/10 -Not really needed because of the plate mail.
CON 16 -I think thisll be good enough,as it doesnt really matter after level 9
INT 10 -Not really needed, but i dont like the thaught of being a total imbocile in real life AND in a game.
WIS 18 -oveosuly.
CHA 15-18 -im not really sure,i just like to know my PC is good looking :D

Are theese reasonable, and is the cleric actually any good?

EDIT for spelling and my reasons for the stats

Put more in strength. Cleric=1/2 tank +1/2 divine spell caster. You do not have that much offensive spells, so you must tank. Having 17 in strength will improve your status, as well the ability to carry stuff.

thanks Baron,ill try that

If you have ToB and plan to visit Watchers Keep there are ways to increase your strength by 1 or 2. I would encourage you to take 18 in str. The difference between 18 and 19 is enourmous.
If you don't just leave it and use Maulers Arm (IIRC!) at first and Crom Faer later. If you use (or plan to use) these weapons later you don't need much strength. Just enough to get you along.
You could go for a Ranger->Cleric or Ranger/Cleric too. They are very versatile.

actually, i wouldnt spend too many points in strength with a cleric, there are many items which raise this to 18 and 19, not to mention cram faer.

Ok,im not too far through and i have Dungeon Be-gone,so as most people say dont have too much strength,im gonna restart. It wont take me long to get to where i am,thanks guys...Your all so helpfull

EDIT yeah i noticed that too mad dog,at 18 you can carry 250 LBS(IIRC) and at 19 you can carry 500 lbs.

i reckon i'd struggle to get into characater of a half-orc fighter/cleric without 19 strength ;)

JrKASperov 05-12-2004 04:47 AM

You're a half-orc, and a fighter. So you can take 19 in strength AND constitution.

TheGodThatFailed 05-12-2004 11:59 AM

Im not half-orc,im dwarf.I decied the half-orc lost the point of being a cleric when i got the urge to wallop evrything to death.

EDIT plus the party got REAL boring
