AFAIK it is illegal combination.

RoSs_bg2_rox 05-09-2004 07:28 AM

yep it is, you cant have to special classes in dual class. Unlucky.

LennonCook 05-09-2004 07:45 AM

<span style="color: lightblue">This is illegal in more ways than one:
Firstly, you can only dual from a kit, not to a kit.
Secondly, bards cannot be part of a dual or multi class.

nevermind...sorry i thought i had a
good combination worked out

Userunfriendly 05-09-2004 04:56 PM

but kensai->blade kinda works using shadowkeeper...

the bonuses to thac0 and ac and damage are all lines in the affects field of shadowkeeper, so you would keep the ac bonus, to hit, damage and kai abilites...

simply make a kensai, then change class to bard, kit blade when you "dual class" using shadowkeeper...you should also roll level to 0 to make sure you don't run into certain problems...

but yeah, using shadowkeeper (cheating) it can be done... ;)

A bard may never dual or multiclass.

Illumina Drathiran'ar 05-09-2004 07:53 PM

You can't even fake it, because you can only have one kit at the time. Switch from kensai to the bard kit, the kensai will be lost. And it also doesn't change the fact that there are no bard multiclasses. Ergo, this is not possible by any stretch of the imagination.

I think what Userunfriendly means is that you apply the Kensai stat bonusus in SK, but not necessarily the actual KIT.

As far as the game is concerned, you would be a single class blade, with +x to hit, +x to damage, x uses of Kai, fighter HP.

You wouldn't actually "Dual" in the game, you'd simply change the class of an existing Kensai to "Bard" and the kit to "Blade". IIRC, the bonus to hit, damage and special abilities of the Kensai will remain. The armour, weapon restrictions, however, would not.

Of course, you could just as well create an assasin, and give him the Kai ability, or a kensai and give him "offensive spin".

Or, sigh, a sorceror and give him +15 to Hit and Damage, with 5 base attacks per round, and grandmaster in Katana's.
