my game seems to lag...meaning that my characters slow down after a while...the screen starts shocking etc...what could be causing this?

thnx...

Could be a problem with your CD-ROM not spinning fast enough. Some times my movie screens freeze and jump around.
What kind of system do you have?

Sounds to me more like it's another program running in the background. Try this: Pause the game, Alt-Tab out of it, then Ctrl-Alt-Delete (once) and see what else is running on your system. I had this problem a lot, something called Qttask kept locking up and slowing the rest of my computer to a crawl.

We run BG on an integrated graphics card (not really designed for this kind of use ;) ) and Win Me. Every couple hours the game starts lagging--we close the game, restart the pc and we're good to go for a while. Actually the time is random depending on how brave the party is vs. how well they're fighting! ;) (Fewer reloads means longer playtime without reboot.)

damn that's it Win Me...again...argh!!

that's it I'm getting XP as soon as possible

Im not an expert on technical questions, but how much RAM memory do you have ? Id say that it looks like the game doesnt get enough, it happened the same to me with another game (when i started it it was ok, then it went slower and slower).

I know I have 64 meg--fixin' to double it this month. The video card (hopeful to replace with a good one asap) is integrated and son says its only maybe 16 meg shared.

BTW, my oldest son, who just happens to be in the pc business, says Win XP is not worth the $ yet--just a lot of hype without any real substance.

128 RAM (I think I'm not sure...)

About win xp:i agree it's not worth the cash.Had it installed on my pc,but had lots and lots of trouble with it,especially with installing hardware, all sort of conflicts

I have win98 now (again),and haven't had a single problem yet
BTW,i have heard many more people have trouble with the "great" new system....
