Okay it was yesterday morning i decided to start a new game and i wanted to make it interesting by downloading some mods. So i downloaded a few evil NPC mods and dungeon be gone.
Okay im still a happy chappy but my scripts werent working so i installed my game again (but on minimum installment). I was happy but the game was slower so i uninstalled it and tried to install maximum. (and i had installed before). But this time a few errors came up and i couldnt play BG2! Throughout the afternoon i tried installing it over and over again but to no avail. So i removed everything (except save file) because i thought that the mods might be screwing up the installment. and heres what it says when i install it ; Component Transfer error Component: Required_Data File Group: hd0_data File: C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\data\AMBSce6b.rra Error: There is not enough space on the disk. Then it also comes up my Hard Disk is full when i clearly have 4 gigs left on it ! Twice in my tries at installing BG II i actually installed it but it said that there wasnt enough room on my hard disk to play it when theres still 2 gigs left! Someone please help i just wanna play! :( :( :( |
Did you install the mods in the proper order? Are you fully patched? There's a sticky thread that discusses the order of installation. Make sure you did everything correctly.
Beyond that, I don't know. Perhaps this is a well-known error that I am unaware of. |
Uninstall the game. Use the uninstall on the CD, and the Add/Remove Programs function of the OS(WIN). Even when you do this, sometimes the Registry enties don't get removed. When the registry entries aren't removed, the CP still thinks the program is installed. Remove the Registry enties that pertain to BG2---WARNING-- if you do not know how to do this, OR have a program that will do it for you, don't attempt this, you could do CP crashing damage.
Now, clean up the ole CP by running a Scandisk and a Defrag. Re-install BG2(full install). Install patches and mods in the proper order. The proper order is listed in a sticky thread by Icelus, on this board. BTW, if you have ToB installed, or are planning to install it,,,,install it NOW, THEN install patches and mods. Only use patches and fixes that are marked ToB. This should fix the problem. Here is a link to a registry editing tool. The tool has a free trial period.. http://www.macecraft.com/ There are free registry tools out there. I'll post a site when I find one. |
Thanks for helping all. I just left my comp for a day then tried it this morning and all is well!
