after realizing that tdd is too buggy i have removed it. Installed everything anew, including Bg2 and ToB.
I have installed, tactics, ascension, redemption, ease of use, dungeon be gone, valen and shuri ninja kit. naturally the necessary patches were the first ones. instalation order and components, were full and correct.

now to the problem.

i am a shuri ninja.

I went to do the druid grove quest. Everything was ok. i told cernd that i will "look from the side" at his fight with faldorn. But, ho! what happened? he did not fought. I fought her, when i said that cernd will challange her, i got only one option in dialoge-"I challange you, yada, yada".

A fist fight occured (yes, she did not cast even 1 spell, and did not shapeshift). I won.

then i was presented that staff, and asked by the spirit of the grove to become the leader of the grove.

what in the 7 blazes just happened??

I am a t h i e f. N o t a druid.

I almost always got cernd to kick her panther tail.
Is it a bug? Or a normal proceeding?

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a Multiple Stronghold component installed(comes with EoU, I believe)on your game

DragonSLsayer25 is correct. This is a part of the Ease of Use Mod. You can still decline the Stronghold if you wish.

Following icelus's lead in his big Thread O' Links, I found the source of the Shurikai kit, and was rather struck by the wealth of info about the kit on its download page; none at all. Jeez, people, if you want me to download the kit, it'd be nice to know a little bit about it before I install the thing! Baron, any chance you could post the kit's Advantages/Disadvantages here?

From the mod's readme:

Quote:

Advantages:
- 20% bonus to stealth
- +2 Bonus to dexterity
- At high levels they gain the fighter's special abilities.
- +1 THAC0 and damage every 4 levels
- +1 Bonus to AC every 5 levels
- Can specialise in katanas, scimitars, daggers, darts and short bows.
- Can place 2 points in single weapon style and 3 points in 2 weapon style

- As the Shuri Ninja increase in level they learn new deadly techniques to aid them in combat or asssasinations
* Level 5(Blue Belt) The shuri ninja learn to detect illusions using True sight twice a day
* Level 10(Purple Belt) They learn to strike at pressure points with their bare hands and stun their opponents unless they made a save.
* Level 15(Red Belt) They learn to maximise the damage they deal for a limited time once a day (kai). They gain another use every 10 levels
* Level 20(Brown Belt) They learn the monk's quivering palm which they can use once a day.(The secret was stolen from a monastry). Opponents will die from the blow unless a save is made.
* Level 25(Black Belt) They learn to coat their weapons with poison once a day
* Level 30 They learn to strengthen their minds against all mental attacks once a day (Chaotin Commands). Their stealth increases by another 20%.
* Level 35(First Dan) Their skill in combat increases (+1 bonus THAC0). They can coat their weapons with poison once more a day.

Disadvantages:
- Can't set traps
- -2 penalty to strength, constitution and charisma
- Can only use katanas, scimitars, daggers, darts and bows
- Can't use '2-handed weapon' and 'sword and shield' style
- Can't dual class
- Can only be a Chaotic alignment
- Only humans can become Shuri Ninjas.

Notice that the "every 5 levels -1 AC" thingy, does not work immidiately and works only from level 10. My char had 20 dex and no equipment, and had only 4 AC on level 10. (now it is 3 and i am on level 16).

Stunnig blow works also with weapons. Checked it on Amalas.

They can in theory set HLA traps (at least ninja from tdd could, and he should not, according to the description). As soon as i will reach level 24 i will check it out.

My opinion about the kit:

A rather well (relativly) balanced kit.
The point of reducing charisma will never be understood, the thac0 is low enough, but not too low. Quivering palm will not be that helpful, the saving throws of the enemy will be too low by then. The same with poison.

the fighters special abilities do not fit. that is cheese. on the other hand, the abilty to have only one assassination per day for an assassin is weird.

Instead of 25 points per level there should be only 15 or 20.

Hmmmm....that does look interesting. In accordance with roleplay, pretty balanced....

The Fighter HLAs are indeed quite wrong. Deathblow I can see, Whirlwind sorta, but Hardiness? No, ninja should be more of Assassins than anything else, so they should get the Assassin's HLA pool. Giving them Deathblow would be redundant with their Stunning Blow. They should be restricted from wearing Elven Chain and Studded Leather, and they should not get UAI. Their lack of Trapsetting abilities (if truly implemented) offsets all their special abilities, so their 25 Thieving points per level seems all right....but I see no reason why they can't Dual.

What is noticably missing is the ninja's characteristic of disappearing before your very eyes: I would kick their True Sight ability right out, and replace it with Invisibility 2x/day.

I believe the -2 Charisma is due to the effects of running around masked all the time, and the only time people can see you is when you're leaving a crime scene.
