I just tried to install BG1 on my computer. After placing the cd in, atuorun works and i click install, but nothing comes up. I went into my D: drive and manually tried to run setup.exe and it said:

"C:\DOCUME~1\Ross\LOCALS~1\Temp\. A temporary file needed for initialization could not be created or could not be written to. Make sure that the directory path exists, and disk space is available. Choose 'close' to terminate the application"

I have no idea what that means, or what i should do. Can anyone help me, i really want to install BG1 again. Im running Windows xp professional if that helps at all.

You might have more luck if you post on the BG1 forum. Use the quick jump menu in the bottom right.

One thing to try would be to delete the temporary folder under ross\localsettings. Temporary folders are safe to delete if you don't have any apps open at the time.

Or it could be a problem with the installer, it never hurts to clean the CDs.

Try re-installing.

or you didn't login as admin...you need that to install new games...
