I'm wondering if I messed up something with the romance with Jaheira because she hasn't spoken to me in quite a while. Last conversation we had was when I came from Bodhi's lair after beating up her vampire gang about settling down and me being inspiring my companions or somesuch, and I'm in chapter 6 now with not a single word from her. I've heard she won't say anything in the underdark, but I've played for over an hour real time in the realm above already, and I've already tried sleeping to see if that might trigger anything. Did I miss anything which might've gone wrong or should I just keep playing and see if she'll say anything anyhow ?

It may take some time, but to see if you are stuck you can try cheating (enabling cheat mode in the baldur.ini is explained on the ironworks main page and a lot of forum entries, just search ;) )
either use Ctrl+I to trigger random party conversations (including romance) or use the appropriate CLUAcommand If you're really stuck don't lose hope.
The Jaheira Romance is extremely buggy even in patched versions.
1. Check out the original patches from the BioWare
2. Check out the Baldurdash fixpacks from www.baldurdash.org
3. check out the romancing guide from www.sorcerers.net to get some understanding of the variables (but be careful not to spoil yourself with the walkthrough.

You're in the Underdark. Part of Jahiera's romance cannot be advanced without certain... people.. advancing the quest. Have you spoken to Revianne? How about Terminsel? Has she returned to the Hold? Have you killed Dermin? All of these events advance the romance. Be patient and just wait until you're out of the Underdark.
(Forgive me if it's obvious to some people where in the romance they are by the talk of settling down. It's been a WHILE since I did the Jahiera romance. For obvious reasons.)

Ive already finished ( well....near enough ) the game with jaheira but my pc was female then, so I know what you mean Illumina, that hasn't happened yet. However, after reading the sorcerers guide ( very carefully, it's both a great tool and the ultimate spoiler ) I noticed after the last LT I had this:
Bandit Quest

Until this quest happens, you won’t proceed with romance. Keep in mind that this quest will happen ONLY if you’re OUTDOORS, not in the CITY and not in area 2500. For example, you can go to Windspear Hills.
And of course, when you’re there, go to sleep.

I thought I had slept outside, but I may have been mistaken as I haven't met these bandits yet. I'll try it. Thanks for the help.

It should be smooth sailing from here on in! The Jahiera romance is so well-done, there's not a thing that could go wrong and ruin it!

DISCLAIMER: Illumina is very fond of Jaheira, and is only expressing disapproval towards the notoriously buggy Jahiera Romance, not Jahiera as a character.

Yeah I've heard of the huge amount of bugs in it. Damn shame really.
I really thought I had rested outdoors already, but either I'm mistaken or this is one of those bugs: everything went as supposed to when I rested.

Lyth, basically you need to meet the following SPOILER filled requirements.


A) First few conversations with Jaheira, be sympathetic.
B) Save Jaheira from Baron PLoyer's curse.
C) Start the Harper Pin quest.

The harper pin quest only advances on the surface, and you also need a rep of 16 or higher to complete it in a good way. Basically, Jaheira's romance will only continue if you've started that quest. As Illumina mentioned the names of NPC's that are part of the quest earlier you should find out how to do it easily..

Basically.. if you want to be advancin' your romancin' you've got to show Jaheira that:
A) You're a sensitive new age Bhaalspawn.
B) You can do a little detective work and kick some evil guy butt.
And C) You care enough about her to go through the tedious Harper Pin quest which often takes a LONG friggin time. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I've completed the romance, up to the point where a certain badly-disguised wizard shows up, but he just stands there. I can't initiate dialogue with him. He turns to face jaheira as she moves, but nothing else.

I'm fully patched up so don't have the 'busy' problem with any other character...anyone have suggestions?~ i've reloaded and redone the last part of the romance, but he still just stands there. Will i have to resort to consoling in the pin and the XP?

I had this problem a while back. Fully patched, eh? Do you have ToB installed? How about the fixpack? When were said fixpacks/patches installed, before or after ToB (if you do in fact have ToB, or the fixpack)

I installed ToB before anything, then the offical ToB patch and then the fixpack. Have several WeiDU mods installed, but not the flirtpack or anything that interferes with romances so i don't think it's that. All the mods were installed last of all, but the romance occured before most (if not all of them) were installed. (only recently discovered the replay value with a few mods, fantastic :D )

I'm doing about three games at once, so it's not really a big deal, was just curious if there was an easy solution. Thanks for the quick reply [img]smile.gif[/img]
