Minor Spoilers
** * * * * * * * * Anyway, the slave lords 'quest' in the Athkatla Temple district, is there a real quest there? For example, any NPC who tells you to go there?... My experience has been that you just walk into a 'guarded compound' and kill everything, with some npc's connected to the equipment you receive.\ However, I would like to know if there is any singular or group of npc's who asks you to go and do it for them?... It was not Hendak, nor was it the Harpers as I originally thought. I played both those scenarios through and never saw a word about it... For those who don't know the 'Slave Lord Quest' is in the guarded compound in the Temple District, you go into the building a mage and a female cleric say 'Intruders... Oh my' And you say 'Lets fight' they leave, a demon and some other nasties appear and kill each other. Then you go upstairs and fight a variety of humanoids and a giant. So what is the purpose of this other than some excellent equipment?... Is the 'quest' just hack and slash?... or is there some more substance to it? Odruith |
It is part of an incomplete quest, as are many encounters in the game. Sadly, deadlines and pushy publishers are part and parcel of life.
There may be Mods out there to fill in the blanks, but so far I have not heard of any widely-endorsed Mod for the Twisted Rune-Slavers-Black Rose-ToB NPC connections. |
Black Rose? Don't you mean Black Lotus, Dundee?
There is an Unfinished Business mod (version 2 has just been released IIRC) that deals with some of the subquests. Nonetheless, this enormous quest has not been tackled (yet). |
Ah. I've seen a few of these quests, incompleted I mean....
Strange. It is fun to go in for some hack and slash every now and again... but for the equipment this quest gives, it seems strange ... a bit pointless to have such a good reward without any substance. Well, in the spirit of this thread now that it's started, what other unfinished quests have been found?.... |
Dozens, literally.
This involves not only things that were left in the game although they make no sense (such as Kalah exclaming that 'this wasn't promised to him', Tor'Gal grunting about his 'master' and Valygars comments about Suna Seni [who is one of the slavers you kill in the first encounter, watch their names closely]), but also things that were never implemented such as Jan's library quest. |
I thought Tor'Gal might have had something to do with the Roenall's... obviously not.. heh...
And Kalah I thought just had something to do with the Genie in the tent.. though the Genie never appears again.. so that must've been an illusion. Also the thief stronghold.. you get the meeting then the decision with Kretor. And then...... NOTHING for the duration of the game except Lathan saying that there's nothing to report... Hmm.. |
Oh, obviously yes. I think that it's a very valid possibility, that the Roenalls put Tor'Gal And Company up to that. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but you shouldn't equate a lack of ingame information with ruling it out as a possibility.
