Here i go again
1. I have problems with "Meet Mistress on GraveYard" subquest ... who is this Mistress ? how to find her ? I looked all over the GraveYard District and found noone. Or i need to be higher lvl ? 2. Staff of the Magi (+1 THACO (strikes as +5 weapon), +2 AC, +2 saves, Invisibility, Immunity to Charm, Prot. from Evil, area fire/elec. damage 3x/day, Spell Trap 1x/day) Layene in the hidden mage's chamber in the Bridge District I really couldnt find it .... could anyone be more specific in pointing where and when i can find it ? PS: Sorry, if these questions seems too simple or dumb, but ive just started to play BGII carefully Before that - ive finished BGI and just played a bit BGII - but not further than Chapter 2 |

Sigh... the spirit of adventuring is lost on many. Oh well, in descending order, Hint ~ ~ ~ ~ You need a gem that is rainbow-coloured. Layene is part of an organisation that hides behind a magically-locked door next door to an Elemental Lich. ~ ~ ~ ~ Spoiler ~ ~ ~ ~ You need a Rogue Stone. Layene is part of the Twisted Rune, and they live next door to an Elemental Lich guarding a part of Kangaxx. ~ ~ ~ ~ Map Spoiler ~ ~ ~ ~ Point Number 5 Still reading? Okay... just to let you know. Layene is not alone. ;) |

2) If you want the SotM have a Rouge Stone in your inventory and search around where the Elemental Lich is. And save or you may become bald i you are low level. This is a very tough battle. (Chapter six is advised for non experience player) [ADD] Dundee beat me for 5 seconds! [/ADD] :D [ 01-06-2004, 07:00 AM: Message edited by: Xen ] |
::raises hand:: Kangaxx is a very tough battle. This is a slaughter.... ::bursts out laughing:: Ah, who am I kidding? The damnable skull is mush when you know what to do about him. But this is perhaps the toughest battle in SoA... I think that the group battles (SoTM, CF) are tougher than single (Kangaxx, dragons), but that's just me.
My guess is, if you're still scratching your head about Valen's mistress, you should LEAVE THE STAFF OF THE MAGI JUST WHERE IT IS for quite some time. Thank you and have a nice day. |
Dundee:
1. Well, i've read Journal carefully and of caurse i was searching there at night PS: Ive tried to find her Before and After ive talked to Gaelan. 2. thanks for hint, and yes, i had to look to the Walkthrough after i had Cult quest broken ... so decided to check for what kind of weapon is possible to find in game Found that Quarterstaff is very interesting weapon - it have +4 type for Liches, it have Piercing type for Blunt immmunes, it is fast and do descent damage. Wanted to try something better, than usual long sword/flail type Illumina: Well, i've tried to fight one lich (in sewers) already ... didnt make it this time But ill keep on trying.... and yes, im a new one here - didnt have anyone higher than 12th lvl yet |
If you're reading a walkthrough as you're playing for the first time, you might want to try one that helps you avoid immediate, outright spoilage (unless that's what you want). Try: http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/bg2.php
Oh, and I'll second what was said about the staff. You're right about its usefulness, but so are the others in this thread about the timing of its acquisition. |

A lich is not a demilich by a longshot, dear one, and even among liches, not all are created equal.

I had this "Non appearing character" dilemma also. I found resting for 24 hours in the graveyard district util it is night AGAIN usually does it. Hope this helps
