It surprises me that Viconia is actually on the surface. Mainly because I have read a good few of the R.A.Salvatore books. And it clearly states that the De'Vir family was completely destroyed, no Drow would want to live on the surface, yet she is. This is also AFTER the time of troubles, and the De'Vir family dies before it (I think).Strange...

I'm almost positive that she was exiled from the Underdark (or, rather, ran away one step ahead of the headsman's axe, so to speak) for faltering and not sacrificing someone to the glory of Lolth. I remember something about her brother.

Hmm, looks like I'll have to go through the romance with her... just want to clear up the story :D . Its been so long since I actually had a proper team. I usually just have 1 person to romance and the rest are PCs that I made. Its a lot of fun, but I do miss the conversations :D

She didn't sacrifice a child or something to Lolth so another house decided to bust a cap in the De'Vir family, killing it. Viconia had already left the Underdark by then.

There are other drow cities, and there's nothing stoping a two houses of the same name from being in different cities.

Yeah, its Menzoberranzan. I don't think its because she refused to sacrifice a child. If that was the case then someone of her own house would have killed her.

Viconia failed to execute a small surface child for Lloth. Another handmaiden stepped in, and killed it. Then some of the other houses saw this as weakness and started a war with house DeVir. The only way to satiate Lloth, was to execute Viconia. The Matron mother of the house was planning on doing so, when her brother (whose name starts with a V like Veras or somthing like that but I can't remember off the top of my head) stepped in, and killed their mother, to save her. They Lloth turned him into a Drider to punish him for interfering. Then she left, since her house was destroyed and her family in ruins (not to mention that people were still trying to kill her).

Hmm, that isn't how the house De'Vir is destroyed in R.A.Salvatore books, a shame they didn't research into this, as House De'Vir is his creation...ah well, can't have everything :D .
