I have gone through game serval times, but there is one thing I have not done yet:

I read the FAQ, which indicate that you can get a Halberd +4: Blackmist from Demon lord in Underdark by offer the silver dragon egg. but the only option for me to talk to the demon lord is to remain silent or ask him to go back.

Anyone know how to offer the silver dragon egg to the demon lord?

Kill Solaufein and play the game evil ! :D
If you play good and try to deceive Phaere, the you don't get the evil dialogue option.

Maybe there are some other options and other veterans of BG2 will be happy to help.

If I kill Solaufein, I won't have the fake egg to give to Phaere, which means I won't have the real egg to offer to demon lord. May be I should lower my reputation using slayer change, I have a 19 reputation.

Can anyone comfirm that low reputation give you the right dialog choice?

If i recall correctly, your PC has to be evil. You can then offer the real eggs to the Demon Lord, and you get several options, one of them being something like "Give me a powerful item", thus gaining you Blackmist. ;)

What are the stats on blackmist is it better than other halberds available?

BTW is any Halberd upgradable in the game? or TOB, I fancy using one as a main weapon one day rather than swords and flails

Halberds get good... VERY good... in ToB. That's all I'm gonna say.

As for SoA ones... there are already 3 very good +4 enchanted Halberds.

Exactly, you do not really need Blackmist. Thus, you can do in Solafein and not really worry about what you missed.

In fact, if you've gotten to the point where you have the option of killing Solafein, then you should have found a really good +4 Halberd already. I have always thought it better than Blackmist.

in my opinion blackmist is only good for its name, otherwise that +5 all element dammage haldard is good vs mages and the like.

one question... why do you play in good mode? the only way i have fun woth this game is being evil, but of course my rep stays around the 9 area, solaufein is just too wicked to kill, its unfortunate that there isnt an option to turn the demon on irenicus, that would be fun to watch....heh
