I am fighting a silver dragon and find that my main character takes hit whenever the silver dragon heals herself. I also found that I can't cast fireballs or any such spells near my traps, because that kills my swashbuckler.

While I keep talking of silver dragons, does anyone have tips to kill it (on insane) with a level 15 priest of Talos (main char), level 17 swashbuckler and a level 14 sorcerer and a summoned air elemental? I managed to kill it once after about 7 reloads, but the swashbuckler got crushed and cannot be resurrected. My tactic was to buff with all possible spells including a scroll of cold protection, then turn the cleric into a slayer so he had -22 AC, 5 attacks, -9 THACO (only first strike, then it raises to 1 for some reason). My swashbuckler set 4 traps nearby, hid in shadows for THACO bonus, then I had all 4 attack the beast, doing hit-and-run tactic. But whenever the dragon heals herself, my main character dies.
My sorcerer tries to breach the stoneskin.

Yes, forgot to mention that. I have the latest SoA and ToB patches as well as the baldurash fixpack.

My party is evil, so I have to fight her. ;)

is the dragon killing your pc, or are you spending too much time as the slayer?

Oh perhaps that's it! I had my mind already set that he would turn back to normal human eventually, but maybe he dies.

Not maybe. He dies. If you stay in the Slayer form tooo long you just die not matter how many times you heal your self wich i find very odd.

If you take a huge amount of damage in one shot (i.e. more than your hit points), then you die.

I hit someone and i was fully healed but i died couple of secs after that.

Thanks! That definately helped. The dragon is dead. My sorcerer ran around casting sunfire while the dragon chased him, hehehehe.
