SPOILER!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The demons Jonoleth summons can be a big pain in the ass yes, but I can't help you that much unless you give me some more info on your party. Who are in it? What are the levels you're at? |

Before the battle starts (before you put in the last Tear of Bhaal), buff up on protection spells (chaos, stoneskin, protection from magic weapons, you know the works). That way, when the battle starts, you're already ready to go! It doesn't matter how you position your characters b/c once the battle starts, they'll automatically get reposition for you. Normally, when there is a mage in a battle, you would want to take the mage out first. But here, I saw that it's easier to take out the demons first, and then fully concentrate on Irenicus. Now, you'll either be wanting a thief with high percent (100+) in 'Detect Illusions' in order to dispell some of Irenicus's illusions, or you're going to have to fill up spell slots with dispel magics and breaches. Trust me, you may need a good deal of them ;) . If you have Keldorn in your group, you can you his special ability to dispel magic since it casts at twice his level (meaning that if he's at level 20, he'll be casting dispel magic as if he was at level 40, so it is almost always successful). Irenicus teleports around, so make sure you can keep up with him (haste) </font> [ 11-22-2003, 12:20 PM: Message edited by: Lord ] |
I believe the demons are suseptable to disintagrate. Just be sure to lower their saving throws first. This helped me alot my first time through the game.

Bahhh. This isn't that tough a battle.
As this is the final battle, you should FULLY buff up your party. And I mean FULLY. Use every spell and potion. Use the Simularcrum spell to summon a clone of your wizard(s) as well. Nothing like doubling your arcane firepower. Spread your summons out around the area where Joneleth and his 4 demons will appear. Have your very toughest tank attack Jon, while having EVERYONE else in your party and your summons take out his demons. Do this quickly, because Jon will likely try to cast a Death Spell that will wipe out your summons. That said, it is still worth having your summons cuz they can do good damage to the demons before getting nuked by Jon. As each of Jon's demons dies, have those tanks move on to assist in killing the next demon. Only worry about keeping Jon busy while you are killing his demons. Also, have at least one of your mages (and/or clones) ready to cast Breeching spells against Jon to prevent him from bring up magical defenses. You want to keep his defenses as weak as possible. After his Demons are gone, you can focus your full firepower on Jon. He should go down very quickly without any demons to cover his butt. |
Cant you just use protect from evil radius 10" to stop the demons?
