My party consists of two characters (Aerie and the PC) and I have adventured up to Spellhold.

Following the transformation and the dream sequence, Aerie's spells become blanked out and she is not selectable by clicking on her portrait, and although I can view her inventory, the items are greyed out.

This leads me to think the game isn't bringing Aerie out of the state of torpor the dream sequence transfers her to.

I should mention that the PC dizzy/Aerie/rescued person all initiate the correct dialogues with each other - I just can't do anything with Aerie afterwards.

I'd ideally like a solution to this bug, I'm rather against kicking her from the party because a) she is L18 as a mage and L21 as a cleric and b) she is my characters romance. All help welcome.

Of course all help is welcome .

Can you guess the questions I'm about to ask???......it's a tough one ...

Are you fully patched? :D Damn, I've heard that so many times that it seems a waste of time just to ask it ;) .

Have you tried reloading and going through the dream again? Or try going to sleep again, and maybe she will become 'active' again.

Yes. ToB Patch and the Baldurdash patch.

Yes. I made a save at the start of the dream. I've been through the dream three times and the bug is replicable.

have you tried Ctrl+Q (just a hunch)
or kicking her out and taking her in again (you can fix the romance variables again later)

No luck with CTRL + Q but...

I paused a split second after regaining controls of my characters and Aerie is actually controllable. I think there is a corrupt dialogue script that is trying to activate, and is keeping her 'frozen out' until she delivers it.

Soooooo, what I'm going to do is take control of her during the split second I can then boot her from the party and ask her to 'wait here'. Then I'm going to ask her sexiness to rejoin the party.

Will this affect the romance? If so, how do I fix the romance?

Thanks.

Bah! It doesnt work!

Aerie still 'greys out' as would the party during the transformation and the dream sequence.

Anyone got any other ideas how I can get around this pls?

[EDIT]

Rather than spamming...

The solution was as simple as killing Aerie off, then resurrecting her.

Ahh, the things I go through for love :D

[/EDIT]

If you're really desperate do the following:
1. keep a hardsave before the whole incident
2. boot her beforehand - optional: send her to the circus
3. go through the sequence
4. recruit her back - optional: recruit her from scratch = Clua in AERIE8
5. save
6. Open the second save with shadowkeeper and repair the romance - optional: open both hardsaves and adjust AERIE8 to the stats of Aerie before the whole incident

If you boot her this WILL affect the romance, but you can reapir that. Check out the detailed romancing guide at sorcerers.net to get all the meanings of the global variables.
