Just came across this Mod and was wondering if any one had any comments or recomendations about it.

I've heard it's buggy (unless I'm thinking of Shadows Over Soubar mod)

Vedran 11-09-2003 02:20 PM

Perhaps you are, perhaps you aren't, but The Darkest Day really is buggy.

Ny'irilit 12-08-2003 12:46 PM

yup, very very buggy, however the added spells and weapons are nice to see, makes it a whole lot different, although i have yet to find the "megaquest" or even any large quest which has been added on

Not compatible with ToB either (unless theres a new version out)

Yes, they worked out TOB compatibility and a lot of the bugs a good while ago.

When I played it, it wasn't too buggy. The new kits are awesome, if a little unbalanced in some cases, and the added story line is kinda nifty, though I personally found it boring. The NPCs are cool, though banterless, and the quests are cool, though they annoyingly don't become Journal entries.

Out of curiosity, what makes them cool if they basically have no personality? Good pics and stats?

Minchandre 12-11-2003 11:40 PM

Good concepts. Not simply the stats, but the idea behind the character. If you want, you can imagine stats. In the old days of pencil-and-paper, there were no preset banters between party members. You got into arguements with people you were gaming with, or, if you wanted (and the DM let you), you could play up both sides of a conversation with an NPC. Its hard to stay IC, but really cool if you can.

I know that's not the main point of computer games, but, hey.

Yes I talk to myself, but I have imagination!

MY experience with TDD was OK. Some quests were not so exciting but most of them were interesting. Got to slay many more dragons and they are good fights especially on insane. There is a lot of XP in TDD so multiclasses get really strong through the game.

Some very powerful items out there - if you like to powergame - this is your game. And I didn't have any bugs. That was version 1.03.
