So far, I have found 2 empty bottles in the game, and I've held on to them for a while. I don't see any use for them as of yet, so I'd like to know what good they are.

They aren't any good. They're just nice items which are totally useless.

well...if u ever have to go to the doctors in BG2...and they ask u to provide a "specimen"...they'll try to give u a specimen jar....if u have these u can say "hah! i carry my own!".....:|

actually there useless...at least in real dungeons and dragons u can learn to throw anything and throw them at people.

Later on, in Chapter 6, there's a certain dungeon where you'll have to fight a guy named Phaedron. He's a tough nut to crack, because of his high physical, elemental, and magic resistances, and also his hit-&-run style of combat: He runs in really fast (Boots of Speed + Improved Haste kind of fast), bashes the hell out of a couple of people, and whenever he gets down to Badly Injured, he runs off again before you can nail him. A couple of rounds later, he's back, fully healed. He's nasty!!!

But here's the trick: If you have at least one Empty Potion Bottle and a Blunt weapon, you can smash the bottle and sprinkle the broken glass in the passageways of the dungeon. When Phaedron runs in, he steps on the glass, and not only does it force him to slow down, but he takes Piercing damage with every step. (This can affect your party, too: Anyone who's unfortunate enough to be barefoot here is at risk. So those Worn Out Boots from the Fallen Paladins can actually come in useful here.) Of course, the problem with making Phaedron step on the glass is that you have to make sure that *you* land the killing blow: If his last hitpoint is lost to the glass shards, you don't get credit for the kill, and you don't get any EXP. So keep a Flame Arrow or something in reserve.

(Hey, it's Halloween. Had to post something. :D )

Wow, I never would have figured that one out on my own for my life :D . Good thing I still have those worn out boots. While I'm at it, where is this Phaedron in the game? The name sounds awfullly familiar, but I'm not sure if I've seen him before or not...

while we're discussing weird and totally useless items, might i ask what can i do with the ashes of a storm demon (found it in Chateau Irenicus, same chest with Helm of Balduran). Im well aware of the fact that this is a mod item, but i cant imagine a useless mod item...

Are you using BGT? If so the ashes are used to upgrade Celestial Fury (at Cespenar's) later on. This is kinda buggy, Cespenar may take CF and the ashes and give you NOTHING in return sometimes. So either reload or CLUA improved CF in once you got Cespenar to make it and it didn't work.

You being a guru does not justify throwing around believable rumours like that one, Six

If we get this sly and sneaky around Halloween, I'd hate to be posting around April Fool's Day...
