Im playing as an Evil Party (Cleric of talos) and I sorley need an Evil magic User. Edwin would be perfect for this however he is locked away in the theif stronghold.

Is there anyway to get him into your party if your character is not a theif?

There's a possibility to get Edwin into your party with that quest, and it doesn't matter what class you are. It all has to do with dialogue options.

But I thought that you could only get the Ma'Var quest if you talked to Renal Bloodscalp ( which is if you are doing the thief quest )

And to my knowledge that's the only way to get Edwin is by completing the Ma'Var Quest.

Is there there something im missing ?

BTW at this stage im out of the Underdark and already sided with Bohdi in Chapter two so most of the shadow thieves in the main guild hall are dead.

If you've already declared war on the Thieves, your chances of getting Edwin are nonexistent. It would be nice if some MOD detected Edwin's "presence" within the Guild and had him be among the forces defending Mae'Var's Guildhall, but so far no such MOD exists, to my knowledge.

The next time you want to recruit Edwin, just remember that Theives aren't the only people who can talk to Renal Bloodscalp. ("'ey--you a friend of Gaelan's? Me boss says you're welcome to enter, if ye wish.")

Thanks for that. I might just have to import a mage in then but i really like the interparty dialog. All I have at the moment are

Korgan
Viconia

Cleric of Talos ( MP Character )
Theif ( MP Character )
Archer (MP Character )
Barbarian (MP Character )

Who do you think I should drop for an imported Mage ?

Drop the Cleric of Talos. You've already got Viconia for a cleric.

is your archer a ranger and therefore good? sounds like a likely candidate if so

if its not a generic one...

He was a good archer, is now fallen but he still kicks arse with the Missle support.

I ended up droping my cleric.
