Main problem.... I do NOT have a recent backup save.

But anyway, I talked to the dragon, she turned my party into Drow. I answered my correct name and city to the drow that met me at the town entrance... but he attacked me anyway.

So... I go into the city, and the entire place attacked me on sight.

I'm halfway through slaughtering everyone... is this a really serious screw up? Will I recover from this? Will I miss out on anything major by just slaughtering everyone in town and looting the eggs from somewhere?

Help!

By the way.... I did try and do a search for a topic like this.... to no avail.

I really could have used those vendors to sell some things =/

Question is, how far back is your last backup save? Entering Ust Natha overwrote your Auto-Save, so you can't use that. Do you happen to have a save from when you first entered the Underdark?

Keeping everyone in the city happy and healthful is a good thing, not just for buying and selling with the merchants, but also for the experience. You can level up your characters in the city if you do the right things.

BTW, when you told the guard your true name, were you acting like a drow when you told him? Were you acting as the typical male or female drow would act? Remember, drow society is highly matriarchal, and signs of weakness mean slow and painful death.

Honestly... my last save is from when I was dorking around with that magic book I got in chapter 4...

The one that allows ANYONE to cast a spell from it, but the spell it gives you is random.

I forget the name...

Experience isn't a big issue for me, I'm ahead of the curve there. Is there a key item or contact that I will lose? If not, I can sacrifice a few thousand exp points if that's the only consequence...

I know the book, but the spell choice isn't as random as you think. ;)

Nope. You've figured it out--hack your way through, find Adalon's items, and give them back. However, Ust Natha offers a huge potion selection, as big as Roger the Fence's, and a few cute items. They're nothing you absolutely need to finish the game (as in, there's nothing there that you have to have in order to proceed).

what exactly did you say to the Guard???
Anyway, there's no way to turn them peaceful again. That'll teach you to quicksave more often :D

Divinar 10-25-2003 10:02 PM

That's the problem, I quick saved after killing the guard who attacked me, since I had no idea what was in store for me! =/

I'm up to my ears in potions... I very, VERY rarely use them.

So far, only a couple potions of Genious on my main character so Mind Flayers don't insta-kill me.

Well, as long as no uber items or key items are lost... I won't go back to that old save.

And, yeah... I know it wasn't really that random. You basically get one of 5 or 6 spells... I chose spell turning I believe in the end.

Well... at 7-9k exp per kill, Ust Natha turned out to be a fairly good exp grind afterall..

The Matron Mother was no where to be found, however.

Am I correct in assuming I will not be able to do the lich quest now?

Tyrion 10-27-2003 08:05 AM

thats right...a certain person will give you a certain item, and he does not appear until you have done a couple of quests...sorry mate!

Since you mentioned the flayers, I assume that you know about the other parts of the Underdark that are worth visiting (and about which you normally learn in Ust Natha for the first time) (?)
