I'm trying to get into the planar sphere...how do I do it? I did a search and it says that I need Valygar in my party, and that he alone can open it. So I have to go take Valygar into my party just to enter the sphere? Is there no other way?

Yes, but no one says he has to be alive... ;)

I forget, but doesn't the door remain open after Valygar opens it the first time? If so, open the door then give him the boot.

Or give him a spiked boot up his butt, and then open the door ;)
