I have tryed to play with many classes now, but I never tried to be bard or rouge. Can anybody tells me what are the cool stuffs, when using them?

Bard:i don`t like pure Bard. Go with the Blade. He is one of the most powerful chararacters around! With Offensive Spin and spells and Thieving abilities he rocks. With some ToB HLA˙s he is pretty unstoppable.

Rouge:what kind of Thief? Pure Thief or any kit?

Assasain-he is cool. Lousy THACO but has great ToB HLA`s.
Boutny Hunter-this guy sucks IHMO.
Swashbuckler-this guy rocks! He is almost a fighter, great ToB HLA`s but he can`t backstabb. And a good AC too.

I used to nearly always play a thief class and have even soloed the game through with the most useless of them all...a bounty hunter! He was fun to roleplay, and the cheesiest thing next to dairylee, traps killed everything dangerous for me and the backstab killed the rest.

I agree with Xen when he says the Blade kit is the best Bard kit. I have recently started using one and his special abilities are very strong indeed. He is a lot of fun to play.

Swashbuckler is the easiest thief to play, and his bonuses to hit damage and ac make him a very good fighter. I have got an swashbuckler to -27 ac before at level 40. Assasins rock too, with a few decent items and a nice weapon they can still backstab almost anything. Even with their poor natural thaco. The poison weapon is lots of fun! I fyou use it with pre-poisoned weapons like the throwing knives or darts of wounding it can take down even some of the biggest enemies.

I would let roleplay decide which thief to play though. Even the most useless of the bard/thief class can still be lots of fun, if you feel a roleplay connection there.

The good thing about a rouge is they have the backstab ability, set traps, pickpockets, find traps, and open locks. I don't care to much for detect illusions. In BG2 they get a thieves guild with thieves that can make a lot of money for you.

It's Rogue not Rouge, which mean Red in french.

Actually DI(Detect Illusions) is very good skill because it works like True Sight and it is not stopped by Spell Immunity:Divination.

Can anemy thieves with high DI still see you if you are wearing the cloak of non-detection?

No. AFAIK enemy Thieves even don`t have DI ability.

What class do you like? I loved mages when starting BG2 so I tried a mage/thief, I loved it. So instead of playing a pure thief you could try something similar. Just an idea of course. A bard? Well I have never played a bard, but I am trying to find out all I can about them cause I just beat SoA and that's my next project.

And has lots of cheese potential: Defensive spin and HLA Bard song stack so there's your 20 AC bonus (+several immunities including normal weapons) cast stoneskin and you have the perfecttarget for your enemies to concentrate on while taking them out one by one.
