Need help!!! At http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/ were is the walktrough SoA?
|
The best one anyways is Dan Simpson's at GameFaqs.
|
could you give me the site?
|
The most comprehensive/complete walkthrough is Dan Simpsons at
http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index.htm (it's the 296k file) . The BEST walkthrough however is SixofSpades' at http://www.geocities.com/sixospades/bg/bgguide.htm because it's spoiler free and a lot of the fun in BG2 comes from the story. So for the best game experience refer to this site and if any questions arise just trust in IWF. We'll help you out if you're stuck :D |
Thanks for the help

Six, I've also called your site a walkthrough, and I still do. It's walking through the game as a whole.
If BG2 is like a nature preserve, Volo's Comeuppance is like that tour guide who only gives one tour about mid-afternoon and comprises the whole park. Dan Simpson's walkthrough is like the guy at the gift shop handing out maps. Good if you know your way around, but someone unfamiliar with the area's going to get lost, and quickly. |
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but my definition of "walkthrough" is something that takes the gamer by the hand and <u>walks</u> them <u>through</u> each map area, quest, etc.--which is exactly the antithesis of Volothamp's Comeuppance.
To continue the nature preserve metaphor, Volo's is the guidebook that tells people how to get out of quicksand, what to do in case of snakebite, how to recognize tiger tracks and stay away from them, how to build a quick lean-to, how to identify edible fish....but Dan Simpson's tells you where to find the best fish and good materials for your lean-to, and where the snakes and tigers are, and what obscure weaknesses they have. |
My definition is a lot wider.
A walkthrough is something I look up when I get my first problems with a game and which I then keep at my desk right beside my keyboard to look it up every time I face another problem while WALKING THROUGH a game. Luckily that first time problem never came to me on my first walk through BG2 because I know that once I've got a WT I'll use it excessively. NOw your guide is still something a player can keep beside his keyboard (or Alt+Tab to occasionally) to solve his problems but will not spoil him like a common WT will. Most people don't know spoiler-free WTs exist (because they don't normally do)and I just thought sammoo1 might be one of them and that he'd be a lot better off with your site and an occasional post on IWF. P.S.: I recall you getting worked up about the ToB Tab-button. NOw check this out. In Baldur's Gate Trilogy (which is other wise a great mod, currently I'm taking a Blade through BG1) we can now do that in BG1 too! I found a lot of containers which I didn't even know were there (and I know the game) while highlighting some kobold loot. And I'm not THAT honest to ignore it. So when I catch a scroll of Cloudkill at party lvl3 now that is cheesy. [ 09-12-2003, 05:41 AM: Message edited by: Faceman ] |
