If a character gets pulverized (portrait disappears) I am in the habit of not reloading if I win. I accept it as the course taken by a vicious battle. However, this time it was Imoen, at the very end of Spellhold (Yoshi got her) which leaves me with three characters in my party: PC (Fighter, -6AC), Valygar (-3AC) and Aerie (-5AC). I need an honest assessment here. Is it possible for me to make it through the Sahaguin City and Underdark with only three characters and no Thief? I have the detect traps spell, and if necessary my PC can dual to a thief, but then I have no real brawn for tanking...also I'm not sure if Imoen being dead screws up the plotline?

Thoughts?

Of course it is possible, it will just be hard. Seeing that you came that far without a real tank (AC-10), you will probable be good enough to do it ;)

BioWare foresaw the Thief drop of Yoshimo to Imoen, and therefore made all of Chapters 4 and 5 very, very light on requiring you to have a good Thief. The drop from Yoshimo to <u>nobody</u>, though, is quite a bit steeper, but you can still pull it off. For Stealth, you've got Valygar. All other Thiefy-type jobs can either be accomplished by other means or simply avoided/postponed.

I definitely do NOT reccommend letting this situation stand for long, though. Get thee a Thief. Even Nalia will do in a pinch, provided she has the right equipment.

I suggest getting Jan if you decided not to let the athourities take him he is a rather good theif and has some of the magic that you are lacking. But there are about three traps in the saughin city that can kill anybody in your pary as well as remove there picture from your screen. And those three traps are not including the Imps game. The underdark does not have as many traps that i can rember but there are 2 real tuff fights that you will need alot of summons for. But other than that its possible.

yeh but the imp game shouldnt affect u if u match the items right. OK so there is still all the little traps but most of them can be avoided and they dont kill u provided uv got lots of hp

And by this point in the game shouldnt you have the cloak of spell deflection or spell turning becuase i know that i did and most of the traps in Saughin city are spells.
