[WARNING! Do not read this post unless you have finished playing SoA. If you continue reading this post despite the warning, you will get MAJORLY spoiled about events in Chapters 2, 3, 5, and 7.]
. . . . . . . . . . . [this post involves dragons!] . . . . I came across a walkthrough that said there was a way to deal with all the dragons in SoA without having to kill them. I thought the author was right. After all, here are the more well-known dragon encounters: THAXLL'SSILLYIA - carry the wardstone FIRKRAAG - double-cross Windspear (must have neutral or evil alignment) ADALON - return the eggs TEST OF PRIDE - don't kill things simply because they stand in your way Nizidramanii'yt, the black dragon in Suldenessellar, seems to be the exception to this rule. I've heard that a character can bribe the necessary chalice from him with a certain amount of gold. I've tried upping charisma, wisdom, intelligence, combinations of all three. Maybe having 20 reputation has something to do with it. Anyone ever managed to obtain the chalice from Nizzy, without using fake-talk, outside MODs or cheat programs, the CLUA console, or pickpocketing? |
Nope. You can choose a dialogue option which allows you to give up all of your equipment and money for the chalice.

There is a cheesy way to bypass this mess. Drop all your equipment onto the ground before talking to the Dragon. You will still lose some gold, but no loss of equipment. ;)

The valid option to bypass tha Black Dragon and obtain the chalice without a fight is togive upp all your equipment and gold. This becomes a valid dialogue option after you try to flatter him a bit and is AFAIK not really connected to charisma and wisdom (at least it does not need super attributes 16+ there).
The cheese-way like Dundee states correctly is to drop all equipment and then select this dialogue making you only loose gold as you can pick the equipment up safely afterwards. BTW You don't need to double-cross Garren. You can just save his child and tell Firkraag something like "You got away this time but cross me again and blablablabla" then leave him and never come back. |

Everything!
He just wipes clear your inventory sheet including equipped items leaving you with NOTHING! (unless you drop and hide some items beforehand) |
Are you serious? I'd rather fight him to the death than let that happen
Dang, for that much you'd figure he kiss your feet and fight Irenicus to the death for you |
Spoiled dragon...I say kill the bastard
I'm allowed to say bastard, right? :( [ 08-11-2003, 09:04 AM: Message edited by: Pyrenk ] |
I think so, just keep cursing down to a minimum (No F word aloud mind you ;) ).
|
Why would one want to avoid a fight with a *dragon*? The very essence of beeing
an hero is to fight epic battles isn't it? ;) |
