Whenever i play bg1 i can play for about 20mins then bg shuts down with no explanation, and no problem given. But i can also go back in without problems and sure enough 20-30 mins later it closes. ive got the latest patches but the problem seems to have started after i got these patches!? i dont know what to do and its really bugging me. obviously i could just save every 10 mins but thats annoying and as you know you sometimes get sucked into the game and so forget a world exists outside of bg! help!!!!!

Only thing that i can think of is that you download may have been corrupted somehow. Try downloading again and doing a fresh install. If you still have that problem, play without the patch.

Another good idea when you have unexplainable problems with games ist to delete your Windows and reinstall it. Especially with Win95 and Win98 this often solved many problems I had with several games (OK, with BG I didn´t have a problem yet.

I have had similar problems too. I blamed them on my processor fan not working properly. Before I changed the fan I was booted out of the game back into windows every 10-30 minutes.
