I have been playing my new game with no reloads and it has turned out to be quite a different game than usual! Usually when a character dies or several characters die in a fight I reload and do it again this time however I just keep fighting until I have won... providing that my main character (half elf bountyhunter) is still standing. It brings up some complicated issues role playing wise... such as what equiptment to bring and what to leave behind when escaping. For example Minsc and Jaheira died while cleaning out the slaver ship (I know its an easy fight, don't ask :D )... I had to leave some loot behind, visit the temple, and then sneak back into the ship to finish off the final room.
This will become more challenging when I find myself stuck in more remote places such as the beholder cult where there is no easy escape. It really makes you think about consequences and alters strategy..In this same game, Yoshimo already bit the dust in the circus tent, but I decided that he isn't worth the effort of resurecting... even though Jaheira could do it with a blink of an eye, I figure I'll just dump his corpse in a shallow grave and be done with him. Besides, Minsc is getting tired of lugging his body around and says it is really starting to smell, go figure.
My advice, play without reloading (on core rules ofcourse), it makes the game alot more interesting.
