I have spent several hours and many combinations of characters and magics to even hurt Thaxll'ssillyia any clues would be most helpfull at this point.

Elemental damage is good, as are the dragon slaying weapons. Spread your guys out so that its wing buffet can't affect your entire party. Use breach and lower resistance and greater malison, then cast spells at it. Other than that, try to keep on top of it with damage. What level are you, and what's your party? You may be engaging him at too low a level.

Yeah, definitely too low level. I would advise being at least 13th level before trying Thax'll. You can still finish the quest though. Remember the wardstone? Hold on to it.

well ... there is a scroll of disintegrate to be found in the dungeon before. use the spell on the dragon combined with powerweord reload and she will fall. loot is never ever lost due to this spell.

My opinion:why bother reloading 20+/- tmes and then finding out that you are weak. Just let it go and fight this battle another day. This is how my F/M/T did it. Cleard the dungeon and came back another day and killed the dragon in first shot.

Alas... Disintegrate does destroy loot. Only quest items and gold are not affected. It is one spell you do not want to use against Dragons if you want their loot.
